He pulled his phone out and dialed a number.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"Calling Chance." he answered. I panicked. I shot across the counter, grabbed his phone, and shut it.

"No!" I yelled in protest.

"Bev! He needs to know!" he complained. We fought for the phone. He reached for it, and I dodged. He used his vampire skills and swiped it from me with his inhuman speed. I stopped him by grabbing his arm. I learned tricks over the years.

"No! I don't want him involved." I stated. "You brought him here in the first place! Send him back!" he raised his eyebrow.

"The message was meant for him! He's here to help, these vampires can be really dangerous." he protested.

"Call in someone else! Like Eilam or Zen! Their older than him! Even Carmen. Anyone but...him." I hesitated to say his name. Ronin facial expression became really sincere.

"Beverly, I kno you're hurt, but Chance was the closest one. Eilam is in New Zealand, Zen is in Sydney, and Carmen is doing another mission in Moscow. I had no other choice but to call in Chance. I was thinking of you. but he's our best at the moment." he explained. I didn't look him in the eyes.

"What about Kieyera?" I asked with sparks of hope. She was like my best friend, stayed with me when Chance went on dangerous mission. Ronin stayed silent.

"Kieyera is dead, Bev. Last week in Milan another vampire staked her in the heart." he answered. I gripped the counter instantly, feeling extremely light headed. Last week! He waited a week to tell me! I bet he wouldv'e waited longer if I hadn't brought her up.

"Last week? Why didn't you tell me sooner?!" I snapped.

"You weren't talking to me. So I knew you were still mourning. I couldn't pile it on you." he answered.

"Mourning? I wasn't mourning! I was leaving my vampire past behind, I was living!" I corrected. I was byeond mad. He didn't seem to understand, no one ever does. "I want Chance out of this city!" I yelled.

"I can't do that! He volunteered to be here. He's just here to do his job!" he replied. I pointed at the door.

"He has no business here! He just wants to rub my face in what he did! He always was a heart breaker, you vampires always ruin everything!" I yelled.

"Vampires?!" my mom gasped coming in. Oh no! Busted!

"Um, vampires as in...ugh...life suckers. They always suck the life out of me. It's an expression." I explained. My mom looked at me then Ronin.

"I heard yelling." she said. She was worried, judging by her expression. Baby...

"It's okay, mom. I was just having a nervous breakdown. It must be that time of month again." I said. Ronin was taking a drink of his water, but once I said that he nearly did the spit take. But he caught himself, instead he started coughing. I giggled to myself. Finally we got my mom to bed without worry. Ronin picked up his coat to leave. He sighed by the door.

"I'm going to meet Chance in the east park, talk about today. Wanna come?" he asked. Memories of east park. Where I found out Chance was a half vampire, where we had our first kiss, and where I got that scar on my neck. (Vampire bite) All the memories made me shiver.

"No, I'm going to bed." I answered. He gave me another sincere look.

"Okay. Call if anything happens." he left the house finally! I got into my comfy PJ's, went to the freezer for ice cream, and clicked on the home video Chance made me right before he told me he loved me. It was showing us at east park, kissing. Then it flipped to us at the beach last summer. We were playing in the water. He grabbed me and whispered in my ear.

"Tell me you love me." he insisted. I looked at him and kissed his neck.

"I love you." I whispered. He smiled and ran onto shore. "Hey! What about me?~" I called. I ran after him, he looked down on me, giving an expression I can't describe. He nodded.

"I do. I love you. I see you as mine, and only mine." he confirmed. I scooped ice cream into my mouth, holding back tears.

"And so I am yours. Always." I said. We started kissing again. I couldn't watch anymore. I turned the TV off and realized I was crying. Then the stabbing feeling in my stomach. Oh no. I got up and rushed to the kitchen sink, since it was closest. Letting it flow. Luckily my hair was already in a ponytail. Yup, I throw up when i cry. It just happens. I thought I was capable to watching that video without crying, but it's not time yet. I brushed my teeth and heard the door open.

"Chance, this is getting serious." Ronin said. Chance was in here! Oh no! I quickly ran upstairs to my room, slamming the door shut. Then silence.

"She home?" CHance asked.

"Yes. She yelled at me to send you back." Ronin explained. I hated it when they talk about me.

"Glad to know I'm hated around here." he responded.

"She's really mad. Does it smell like vomit in here?" Ronin asked. Oh crap! I forgot to get rid of the smell. Feet were shuffling.

"There's a video still in here." Chance said. They clicked the TV on and played it. Chance gasped. "She was watching this?" he whispered. I winced at my mistake to clean up.

"I guess that explains the vomit, if she was crying." Ronin said.

"Why would she watch it? She made it very clear that she was over me. This was my love video. The one I made to express my love for her." Chance explained. I felt embarrassed. There was silence.

"I think you better get up there." Ronin suggested. Before I knew it there were footsteps coming up the stairs at incredible speed. I ran to the bed and shoved myself underneath my covers. Right as he knocked on my door, slightly opening it.

"Bev?" Chance asked.

"What do you want, Chance?" I asked from underneath my heavy covers.

"I saw that you were watching our video. You okay?" he asked.

"I'm fine. Just reminding myself to give it back to you. Take it home with you." I answered. I was struggling to say that. I didn't want him to take it, but I needed him to. He was fully in the room now. He was in the no-boys-zone. My mom doesn't know that, that ship is sailed.

"Let me see something." he said. He flung open my covers and turned my neck. His fingers carressed over my vampire scar. "I remember when this happened. I lost control." he replied.

"And I forgave you. Now please leave." I said. He stood up.

"I'll take the video, if you want. It's still yours. If you ever want it back." he whispered.

"It was never mine to begin with." I muttered. Silence. I only heard the door click shut. I waited till I knew he was officially gone before letting the tears fly. Along with the toilet full of vomit. And finally after all that emotional strain, I fell asleep.
