Chapter 7 -School Dances Always go Well for Demigods...Don't They?-
[Sarah's POV]
-
I tried to rationalize with myself. There are plenty of names that begin with H. This meant absolutely nothing.

Except that it did mean something. I felt in my heart that it was true. I had no idea why and I had no idea how but Hades was my father.

I heard the door creak open and instantly stopped moving. Thalia came in and shut the door behind her. She looked around. "Sarah?"

I stayed still and silent.

She moved over to her bunk and pulled a triple chocolate mega bar from under the covers. She then turned swiftly and chucked the bar at me. Caught off guard, I shrieked as it hit me in the face.

Thalia laughed. "Come out of the shadows."

"How about you come into the shadows." I countered and Thalia shrugged. She moved over and climbed up into my bunk.

I almost smiled, which would've been a mistake, but I was feeling very mixed emotions. I was angry and in shock because of Greek myths-not myths?-but I was also elated that Thalia was acknowledging my existence in such a friendly way.

"Got that for you last night." She said nodding at the candy bar in my lap. I closed my sketchbook. "I hope it's up to standards with what you wanted."

I picked it up. "It defiantly is."

Thalia smiled. "So you did you skip class to draw or to hide from us?"

"Did you skip class to check on me or spy on me?" I shot back.

"Fair enough." Thalia smirked. "Really though, ignorance is bliss. Once you know everything, everything normal in your life is over."

"My life was never normal." I told her.

"Mine either," she looked down. "I like your necklace, Nico told me it was your mothers."

"You talked to Nico?" I asked instantly putting my shields back up.

"Yes, but don't worry he didn't say much about you. Just stuff we needed to know to find out who your godly parents was."

"What?"

Thalia took a breath. "Sorry, getting ahead of myself."

"Why did they send you?" I asked quickly.

"Uh, Nico said it would be best if I came." Thalia explained taken aback by the question. "He said I'd be best cause I'm a girl, we have similar personalities and I'm also a child of the big three."

"Explain please." I said relived that Nico didn't tell her about my crush.

"So all the old Greek myths...they're all real. And all the monsters and gods are still alive today."

"Okay..." I said slowly.

Thalia smiled. "I know it's hard to understand at first, but it all makes sense. Basically they live as long the the west does. Olympus moves constantly to the heart of the west. Right now, it's above the Empire State Building in New York."

"Really?"

"Really. And the gods still go around shacking up with mortal and having kids like us."

"Shacking up with mortals?" I mocked.

"Shut up." Thalia smirked. "Basically we're called demigods or half-bloods. This school is basically here to protect us. Everyone in our grade is one except Grover."
