Daughter if Hades
Chapter 12 -You-
[Sarah's POV]
-
At 7:00 Nico and I decided to go back to our dorms, the others would be waking up soon. Breakfast was at eight and our first class started at 8:45.

None of the teachers were wondering about yet so it was an easy trip back. I hugged Nico even though we'd be seeing each other again in just an hour.

I walked into the girls dorm and saw that Thalia's eyes were open. I stopped walking.

"Where were you?" Thalia whispered, sitting up. "You were drawing...for hours...and mumbling then you just got up and left."

Thalia had been up all night. Up all night watching me.

"I just needed to think." I said and sat down across from her on the small bunk. I heard Hazel moan in her sleep.

"Think about what?"

You.

"The annoying amount of life wasted here." I answered instead.

Thalia nodded. "Not about anything else?"

"Just some other life stuff."

Thalia nodded again.

"So why were you up all night?" I asked her.

She smirked. "Well I was having trouble sleeping and then you pulled out your annoyingly bright flashlight which kept me up. After I'd gotten used to the light the sound of the pencil and your incoherent mumbling kept me up even longer."

"Nothing else keeping you up?" I asked half mocking the question she'd posed to me.

"Nope." Thalia reached under her bunk and pulled out two of my favorite chocolate bar-the same one she's gotten me the first time I was allowed a raid request. "So what were you drawing?"

You, again.

"Nothing special." I shrugged.

"Can I see it?"

Shit.

"Um...no." I said trying to keep worry out of my words. "It's not finished yet and it was made in my sleep deprived state so it's really bad." I lied. Honestly it was probably one if the best things I've ever drawn.

"Come on," Thalia hit my arm playfully and bit into her chocolate bar. "It can't be that bad."

"Trust me, it is." I took a nervous bite out of my chocolate bar.

"I've never seen one." Thalia said suddenly and sadly.

"What?"

She locked eyes with me. "I've never seen any of your drawings. Well, besides the one you have on the wall."

"No one has." I told her. "Except Nico."

"Why?" Thalia asked putting her chocolate down. "Why don't you show people?"

"The work of an artist, of any kind, is often a reflection of the soul." I explained. "I don't feel comfortable sharing my soul with just anybody."

"Will you share it with me?" Thalia yawned which caused me to yawn and giggle a little. She stared at me, waiting for me to answer the question.

"I will," I said. "But not now. Not at 7:42 in the morning when we are both too tired to appreciate it fully."

Thalia nodded and lied back down. "It's cold." She muttered as I started to get up.

It felt fine to me. "Really?"

Thalia nodded sleepily. I sat back down slowly not sure if I wanted to do what I wanted to do.
