He stood suddenly, lifting the chair he was sitting on. He set it on the table and suddenly yanked away one of the back metal legs, splintering the wood seat. He measured the sharpness of one end of the rod by tapping it with his finger—

—suddenly YN found it flying straight at her face. She jerked back at the right moment, eyes widening, hand flying to her mouth to cover the little yelp that had escaped as the metal rod speared through the grate, puncturing entirely through the vent. Her heart was suddenly thundering at the near-death experience. If that shit went through her brain would X-FLSIH even fix it?

"Alright come out mousey," Goo said with a wide grin. He was looking at the vent now. "I'm warmed up now, I won't miss."

""""""""""

Yeah what choice did she have? She gingerly pushed the rod back through the grate so that it clattered on to the floor, and she shifted forward so that she could kick the vent grate open. With the X-FLSIH that was suddenly coursing through her body, augmenting her strength, it wasn't difficult to do.

She slithered out of the grate, dropping from the ceiling, elegantly to the floor, landing on her feet in heels. "Hello," she said calmly.

His expression was one of genuine surprise. But then an eerie smile began to grow on his lips. Goo had wrenched another leg from the chair, and tapped his chin with the rod delightedly as his smile grew. "Out of everyone, YOU are certainly unexpected!!"

"As are you."

He held the rod out straight like a sword so that it hovered in front of her throat. "Not really. Why were you spying on me and lurking in the walls?"

YN pushed the rod away. "I wasn't spying on you; I was trying to sneak into this room."

He tapped his chin again. "While in the walls like a rodent. Now, now, now, should I believe this?"

"How the fuck would I know you were here? I was just looking for Sammy."

"Through the vents?"

"I have a restraining order."

Goo beckoned her closer. She hesitated but obeyed. He leaned over and whispered in her ear conspiratorially. "You see, that doesn't really make sense. Because you would just call him. Or you would just call me, if this is about being my secret friend. But you didn't. You came here, to One MCN. Ms. Flower Girl who hates the workers, came in through the vents to the room where I know are some very compromising documents."

YN didn't say anything, standing still like she was playing dead to an interested grizzly bear. He tapped her cheek with the metal bar.

"YN, I'll give it to you, you have every right to hate the workers," Goo said leaning back. "Gun has been looking into you quite a bit recently, tracking your history. You've been very discrete, no? But not traceless, right, Ms. Ace of Big Deal, Ms. Aunt of Hostel?" He giggled. "I suppose that's why you hate Gun. He ruined Big Deal AND Hostel with his stupid 'four major crew' shit. But you know, I told you Charles Choi was the real enemy. Gun is just aiding and abetting." (ch. 44. Rat-Girl)

"He's still helping. He doesn't need to be doing that." She didn't like that Gun was poking around into her past either.

Goo leaned forward again, his grin fully maniacal now. "So then what do you think of me?"

She didn't break eye contact, taking a moment to gather her thoughts because it actually felt like she was tiptoeing around a live mine. "Well, you don't seem to be a too willing participant, by how much you hate Choi."
