Aadi's Pov
"You broke her heart, dude." Rahul comments.
"She clearly likes you." Karan popped in.
"No. She doesn't." Her friend Purvi stated. "She is not into guys like Aadi."
Little did she know, that the same girl is mine already.
I excuse myself from the conversation to find Aarushi.
As I approach the library, I spot her crying softly between the shelves. When she notices me, she looks up, her tear-streaked face softening into a warm, almost comforting smile. But that smile, there’s something about it, something so strikingly beautiful and disarming, it feels as though it could pierce right through me. It’s the kind of smile that holds a depth of emotion, one that can both heal and devastate with just a simple curve of her lips.
"You said that out there, was it true?" She asks softly.
"Absolutely." She chuckles.
"Your girlfriend must be really lucky." She turns around to take a book. Out of curiosity, I snatch the book out of her hands
'MURDER MYSTERY'
"Really?" I ask. She takes the book from me.
"What is wrong with it?" She asks while walking out as I walk closely behind.
"You are unbelievable."
"I am well aware." She says rolling her eyes. "Why don't you go spend time with your girl."
"Are you jealous?" I ask laughing.
"Why would I be jealous of myself." She hits my shoulder lightly. Even a feather feels heavier.
"Ahh. Ouch." I dramatically wince.
"Sorry! Did I hurt you?" She asks genuinely concerned.
"A six year old's punch would be more effective." I say chuckling at her reaction.
"Asshole."
Aarushi's Pov
I walk out of the library, aware of his presence as he closely follows behind me. As I step outside, my eyes immediately fall on our friends, his and mine, standing there with expressions of concern etched on their faces.
Aditi looks at me with a mischievous look.
"Head girl, don't get sad. You have us." Rahul comments and tries to keep his hand on my shoulder but stops midway. I see Aadi glaring at him like he would kill him if he did that.
Oh how is this guy going to keep our relationship private.
"Excuse me."
I turn around to leave, but before I can take a proper step, I lose my balance. A wave of embarrassment washes over me, and I instinctively shut my eyes, bracing for the fall. But the impact never comes.
Instead, I feel a firm yet familiar grip holding me steady. That touch, Aadi.
Without thinking, I clutch onto his shirt, unwilling to let go. For a brief moment, it feels as if time has frozen around us. But the spell is soon broken by an irritating sound, someone clearing their throat, pulling us back to reality. Aadi groans in frustration.
"Are you okay?" He asks concern laced in his voice.
"Um yes." I move away from him.
~
"Why do we have to check bags?! Not like they are going to brings bombs." I groan in frustration.
Our school has the ultimate ways to torture children. One of it is to disturb their studies and check their bags. They personally won't check it, we are the one to do that too.
Ugh. Frustrating!
We enter my class and teacher steps aside giving us an appealing smile.
"All yours."
I didn’t expect Aadi to be in the class, yet my eyes instinctively searched for him. And there he was, soundly asleep on the bench, completely unbothered by his surroundings. As I observed him, I couldn’t help but notice how incredibly handsome he looked while sleeping, his features relaxed in a way that made him even more captivating.
Ugh Aarushi! Stop obsessing over him.
But it's my boyfriend I am obsessing about...
"You are gonna stand here adoring him or work?" Avinash whispers and I just roll my eyes in response.
"Look who's saying."
After checking some bags I go near Aadi's bench to find him still sleeping.
"Aadi." I lightly call for him. He opens his eyes with a smile.
"Hello sweetheart." He whispers and I instantly blushed.
"I'll check Aadi's bag." Avinash pops in. Way to ruin the mood.
"What's makes you think, I'll let you?" Aadi asks with a serious tone. "She'll check my bag. You can leave if you are done."
"Next time I am not helping you, Aarushi." Avinash turns to me.
"Fuck off. I am here for her." Aadi replies.
"Stop it guys." I whisper yell so that no one hears.
I open Aadi's bag and the first thing I find is a mobile phone.
"Really?! You know it's not allowed."
"As if I care." He scoffs.
"Unbelievable." I say and walk out of the class only to find a beautiful girl standing near the lockers. She had deep brown eyes and silky, straight hair that framed her face elegantly. Her figure perfectly complemented her overall appearance, enhancing her natural charm. I hadn’t seen her around before, so she might be new.
"Sahi ladki aayi hai yaar." Avinash exclaims.
"Rhea ke samne bolna ye zara." Avinash just rolls his eyes.
"I think she is looking for someone, come let's guide her."
"Tujhe Pata Hai tu bahut tharki hai."
Ignoring my words he went forward to approach her.
"Hello beautiful." He says. Typical Avinash behaviour. "Are you looking for someone?"
"Oh yes."
"Who is it? Maybe I can guide you?" He asks in flirty tone.
"Aadi Singhania. I am looking for him."
