Aarushi
Focusing today has been quite challenging. Mam just goes on teaching and teaching. Uhh. This sucks. I turn around just to stretch when I see aadi sleeping. This guy is always sleeping. How does he sleep that much.
I try to wake him up by pushing my elbow back. "Aadi, wake up." I whisper.
Before he could respond to me, mam saw him. Ab toh gaya ye.
"Aadi." The teacher screams. "Were you sleeping?"
"No mam, never in your lecture." He says jokingly and I find myself chuckling.
"Okay then, what lesson am I teaching?"
I lean back and act as if I am making my hair. "It's gravitation, you stupid." I whisper.
"It's gravitation, you stupid." He repeats my words loudly and whole class bursts out laughing.
"Sorry mam, I didn't mean that. I mean the lesson is gravitation." He says. I like how he doesn't disrespect people. The teacher immediately looked at me and gives me a glare. I immediately put my face down. How did she know it was me?
"Sit down, I know you didn't mean it." Teacher says to Aadi.
As the class ends, the teacher calls me outside the class. Shit ab toh mai gayi.
"Yes mam?" I innocently asked.
"We told you to tutor Aadi, and here you are helping him cheat?" Teacher asks.
"Teacher it was just a one time thing, I promise." Teacher chuckles at my baby face and leaves.
I go inside the class and glare at Aadi. "Why did you have to repeat my dialogue?"
"Why did you have to add stupid to the sentence?" He questions back.
"Because you are stupid." I say and turn back angrily.
"What happened? Ran out from comebacks?" He asks. I again turn back and glare at him.
"I never run out of comebacks." I declare.
"As you say."
"Uhh. You are annoying." I groan. "No fun in arguing with you."
"I will take that as an compliment." He says proudly.
"That wasn't a compliment but more like a statement."
"As you say."
"I hate you." I turn back frustrated.
"As you say." He again says. Now he knows how to annoy the shit out of me. Like great.
"Chid gayi kya?" He asks. I ignore. The next teacher enters and starts teaching maths. "Gussa kyu ho rhi hai?"
"Meri Marzi."
"Acha, sorry." He says and I can't believe my ears. I turn back shocked.
"Fir se bol?"
"Aarushi and Aadi." The teacher scolds. "What is going on?"
"Mam, it was me irritating Aarushi to explain me a sum." Aadi lies. Why is he lieing? The teacher sighs and turns back to teach. He saved me from humiliation.
"Thanks." I whisper.

I was on my way to the staff room when I saw the girls decorating our notice board. "Didi, will you please help us write the heading?" One of the girl asks.
"Of course." I say.
I take the chair from side and stood on it to write on the boards. The girls looked at my sash with anticipation. The excited minds imaging them in this.
This reminds of when I used to imagine myself as the head girl but then felt like I am not worth the title. But here I am today with the sash.
"Didi, the chair is broken."
"What?" Before I could get down, the chair lost its balance. Aaj beizzati ho jayegi. But no I was held by someone. It was Aadi again.
"Are you hurt?" He asks. Concern in his eyes.
"No. No. I am absolutely fine. Thank you so much for saving me yet again."
"Why would you stand on a clearly broken chair?" He asks.
"Umm I didn't see."
"Wow! Now what is that you were doing? I'll do it." He orders. Why is he ordering me?!
"I can do it on my own." I reply. He messes his hair frustration. Mujhse toh kuch bol bhi nhi sakta.
"Fine. I will bring a chair till then no pulling off any stunts?" Puch toh asse rha hai jaise mai chotti Bachi hu. I glare at him. "Chotti Bachi hi hai tu."
"How dare you?" He just walks away. "The audacity." I look behind to find the girls grinning.
"Tumhe badi hasi aa rhi hai?" I ask.
"Here." He keeps the chair in front of me. "Now stand slowly and hold my hand."
"For God's sake I am NOT A KID!" I scream in his ears.
"Your actions say otherwise."
I hold his hand angrily and stand on the chair. And damn he is holding me so firmly like he never wants to let go.
AADI'S POV
She denied to dance with me yesterday. But in the span of a day, she has taken my hand twice. Her hand in mine makes me feel butterflies. She got down and left my hand but I can still feel her hold.
Every time I remind myself that she is just a friend but my heart for I don't know what reason denies the fact.
We are two opposite poles which can never be together. She is close yet feels so far. Attractions and crushes to me were useless, they had no meaning. But I wonder that everytime I look at her, why do I always feel butterflies. Why is her presence so important to me that I had lie to her mom that it was a family party.
"Thanks didi." The girls say in unison. She gives them a smile and turns to me with a glare. Then just leaves angrily. She looks like a angry baby, cute.
"Tumhare sath bhi nakchadi hai kya?" I ask the girls.
"No she is very sweet to us." They reply.
"Matlab mere samne hi nakchadi hai."
"Maybe kyuki aap special ho?" One of the girl replies and I couldn't stop myself from smiling.
"Uske samne ye bol dia toh bahut maregi." I joke.
"Bhaiya, aap or didi sath mai bahut cute lagte ho. Mai toh bol rhi pata lo." The other one says.
"Patni bhi toh chaiye na!"
"Mujhe toh laga ap dono couple ho." The girl exclaims.
"Aree assa kuch nhi hai." I say and walk from there.
We are two people from different roads. She is girl bounded with rules and principles. I am the guy who is careless and free.
And morever she is just a friend, nothing else.
