Chapter Twenty two

Aarushi

I wander around in my school in search of Aadi. But wait. Why do I care?! After all that he did. Ahh. My stupid heart.

"Aarushi." Someone calls me. I turn to find Rhea, a member of student council. "I wanted the list of__

"Did anyone fight today?" I cut her midway.

"Yes. The old rivals. Aadi and Rohan."

"Why?"

"No idea but yes Aadi was constantly punching Rohan saying 'stay away from her.' That her must be so lucky right." She exclaims.

"Lucky my foot." I mumble to myself.

"Did you say something?"

"No I didn't." I looked around to find Karan, his bestfriend. "I'll talk to you later."

"Karan?" I call out his name. He turns around to face me.

"Oh Aarushi, heyy." He greets with a smile.

"Do you know where is Aadi?"

"In the principal's office, chilling." He adds the last word with excitement.

"Did he get any bruises or something?" I ask out of curiosity. He smirks at my question.

"Aww. You are worried?"

"Answer my fucking question." I exclaim and he looked a little taken aback.

"Aadi doesn't get beaten up. He beats people up." He said with pride. Bunch of self-obsessed jerks.

He is in principal's office and I have to submit the lists to principal mam so I could catch a glimpse of him without him knowing. Nice.

"Aarushi wait." Karan calls.

"Yes?"

"Actually I have a big crush on your friend." He says scratching his head.

"Aditi right?" I ask.

"How did you know?" I chuckle at his question.

"Have you seen yourself looking at her?"

"Is it that obvious?" He asks getting a little embarrassed.

"Kind of." I smile.

"Please help me, impress her." I laugh at his request.

"Ofcourse. As long as you are treating her right!" I say and then enter principal's office.

"Good morning, mam. I have brought all the lists." I greet mam and then take a glimpse of him. He looks fine. No bruises on face. Good. But then his hand. It was red and swollen.

"You may leave Aarushi." Principal says. Why? I don't want to.

"Sure."

"May I leave too? My parents must be waiting." He asks and then I remember he is suspended.

We walk out of cabin and Aadi stops me.

"Aarushi, look it's not what you think it is." Aadi explains.

"What is it then?" I ask. "Wasn't it you in that video?"

"I __ but

It breaks my heart even more when he couldn't answer my question. It was indeed him. He tries to explain again but I stop him.

"Now if you are going to say it was not me and another girl, that is wrong too."

"Aarushi just listen to me, then I won't ever bother you again but I need to clear this out." I could feel the sincerity in his voice. I think everyone deserves to speak their point of view.

"Speak." I say.

"The video was__

"Aarushi, english mam is calling you." I hear someone say.

"I need to go." I look at Aadi. I know he wanted to talk but I don't have an option.

Three days without him in the school were like 3 weeks. It hurts everytime I think about the bet. Why would he do that. I thought he was better than that. In these 3 days Rohan has said so many things about Aadi and yet I am not able to explain my heart that Aadi is wrong. I wonder why do I have so much trust for him.

But in the meantime, Karan and Aditi have come close and I couldn't be happier. She deserves the best.

Today is the day when Karan's gonna confess his feelings and we are sure that she feels the same too.

"Where are you lost?" Aditi nudges my arm.

"Nowhere." I shrug. "Why don't we go to your favourite park?" I suggest.

"Okay." Aditi exclaims. Convincing her is never a task. She never gets to know what I am planning.

"Wear something pretty." I say.

"Why?" She asks clueless.

"We have to click photos!" I lie and she so easily accepts my lie. Hehe.

"Aditi, I really like you. The more I spend time with you, the more I fall for you. I want to be yours." Karan says giving her specifically white and maroon tulips. Because she loves tulips.

I stand there in awe when my eyes found him. Aadi. He is here too. I immediately look away.

"Aww Karan. Ofcourse." Aditi exclaims jumping up and down. We chuckle at her excitement.

"Aditi, will you be my girlfriend?" Karan asks.

I feel someone standing behind me. I turn around to find Aadi?

"What?"

"We need to talk." He commands.

"We can talk after__

"Now."

"We cannot __

"Aarushi, please let's talk." He requests. "I don't want to make a scene."

"As if I want to." I muttered.

"You are coming or not?"

"Where?" I ask.

"Let them have their moment, we will go to other side." He says pointing towards the benches.

"What do you have to say?" I ask when we reach the benches. "Make it quick."
