Aadi's Pov
This party feels dull in her absence. She has an incredible ability to bring life and energy to any room she's in. Her presence alone commands attention, it's almost intimidating. The moment she walks through the door, everything changes. All eyes are on her. It's as if the entire scene shifts, and suddenly, she's the main character in everyone's story.
I was pulled out from my thoughts when I found my friends doing something in my phone.
"What the hell, guys?" I snatch my phone back from them.
"Your sweetheart is missing you." They laugh.
"What did you all do?" I open my phone to find her missed calls. Shit. And then my message to her?!
"You piece of shits. Now she is not picking my call." I exclaim in anger. "Get lost from here before I strangle you all to death."
"Hai kon ye sweetheart, jiske liye tu itna protective ho rha hai."
"She is my HOME. Not just a place, but a feeling , a sense of warmth, safety, and comfort. In her presence, I find peace. Her voice is so beautiful, it’s the only music I ever want to hear. She soothes my soul, like a melody that never fades, a harmony that makes everything else fall silent."
I suddenly feel someone touching my back.
Aarushi.
I turn instinctively to find my girl standing with the prettiest smile.
"Well. What a pleasant surprise!"
(Chill guys! Itni buri nhi hu. Abhi kalesh nhi Karva rhi)
We excused ourselves from those annoying idiots and thats when I had a proper look at her.
She looked beautiful.
Actually no.
The word beautiful compares nothing to her. She looks just mine.
"You can stop staring now."
"I can't, when you look so pretty." My sentence instantly made her blush.
"But you can ignore my calls." She says with disappointment. She turns back to leave but I stopped her.
"Don't."
"Huh?"
"Don't leave. Please."
Aarushi's Pov
"I would never." I assure him.
"Let's leave." He says.
"What?"
Bada ajeeb hai ye.
"It's boring here. Let's go somewhere peaceful." He says.
Whenever I look at him, all my insecurities fade away. In that moment, nothing else matters, just him. I can't believe I even considered the possibility of something going on between Aadi and that new girl. I know him too well. He would never hide anything from me. His honesty and the way he looks at me are more than enough to silence any doubt.
"Sure." I reply cheerfully.
We turn around to leave but our legs stopped as we heard a loud music. Everyone turned towards the stage in curiosity.
There was a girl dancing and when I got a clear view of her, that's when I knew who she is, new girl.
"Mira." I hear Aadi say. His eyes fixed on her
I observed him closely, studying every expression, every flicker in his eyes, but still, I couldn’t figure the emotion on his face. He looked shocked, angry, and confused all at once, a whirlwind of feelings I couldn’t unravel. Then he said Mira and in that single moment, my heart shattered into pieces. It’s not supposed to hurt like this… but it does. More than I ever expected
Before I could ask him something, most of the people turned their head towards Aadi but he remained unaffected. His eyes fixed on her.
"Who is she?" I ask.
He finally looks at me. His eyes conveying something so deep that first time in my life, I couldn't understand it.
Without a single word,
He left.
Why?
I follow him outside, trying to keep up with his speed.
"Aadi. Wait."
He didn't even bluge and kept walking.
"Aadi you need to tell me what is going on?" I scream for him to hear.
He stopped but didn't turn back.
Who is she? And why is her presence or perhaps her absence, affecting him so deeply? I’ve never seen him like this before, so vulnerable, so unguarded. It’s as if something inside him has cracked open, revealing a side I never knew existed. But why don’t I know anything about her? Why has she been kept hidden from me? Questions swirl in my mind, relentless and urgent. I need answers.
"Aadi. Please. Who is she? Why is she affecting you so much."
"Leave me alone."
"No. I won't."
He turns to face me. He takes a step forward to face me and keeps his hand on my shoulders.
"Let's talk tomorrow." Was all he said before leaving.
I stood there speechless. I should have stopped him but I didn't. Something inside me had broken.
It hurts. We aren't we close to share things and yet I call him my boyfriend.
What do we know about each other?
Heartbroken by today's events, I return home.
I looked at my books and then at my bed. As much as I wanted to just sleep, I didn't.
My life may be fucked up but my grades can't be...
I check my phone for Aadi's text but nothing.
~
"I want to breakup."
"Why?"
"I found someone better."
My eyes jerked open from the sudden dream.
A fucking dream!
I check my phone, but nothing. No call neither text from him.
"Aarushi. Come down for breakfast." I hear my mom.
Keeping all my thoughts aside, I go down with a bright smile.
My brother comes on the dinning table with an apple in his hand and headphones in his ears.
"I think your phone was ringing." Raj says sitting beside me.
"What?" I jump from place.
"I have never seen her so excited to pick her phone." I hear my mom say.
"Pyaar ka chakar hai matashri." Raj says.
"Stop talking bullshit." I scream while rushing up the stairs.
"Hello." I say.
"Hie" I hear a cheerful voice. I look at the screen to see Aditi.
"What?!"
"Why so grumpy? Oh never mind, you are always grumpy."
"Get to the point."
"Oh yes. I need you to cover for me."
"Ugh. Not again."
"Look Karan's cousin Mira is here. We are going out for a drive. So pleaseeee." She stretches the last word.
Mira again. I find tears rolling down my eyes.
Who is she?
