Quite the Night

I look around the resturaunt to see who said that, and I'm surprised to see Jesse Carmichael walk up to us.

"Remember me?" he says with a smile, obviously paying more attention to Jess.

"Yes," we both giggle and look at each other.

"Adam has been talking about you all night," he says, looking at me.

"What did he say?" I ask. I'm surprised, but curious.

"He's been going on and on about how you're the girl of his dreams and-"

Adam cuts him off and walks right up to me. He puts his arms around my waist.

"Did you enjoy tonight?" he asks, studying my features.

I have a feeling that I'm going to enjoy the night much more before it's over.

"Yeah," I smile. "You didn't have to embarrass me and pull me up on stage, though," I say playfully.

"Oh, you don't like large crowds? How about something more intimate?" he winks as dirty thoughts fill my mind.

"I meant dinner with me, silly. I just met you." he answers my thoughts, almost as if he knew what i was thinking.

I really wouldn't mind doing more... I think to myself.

"Really?" I ask, happier than I have ever been before.

"Of course. I'd love to have dinner with you, Aria."

My heart skipped a beat. He remembered my name.

"What about Jess?" I ask, concerned. I don't want to leave my best friend out.

"She can eat with the other guys. I'm sure they can keep her occupied," he says with a wink.

"That would be great," Jess says happily. I know she has a thing for Jesse, but I still feel kind of selfish keeping Adam all to myself.

"Come with me, Jess," Jesse says and puts his arm around her waist as he leads her to the table where the other boys are sitting.

I look back at Adam catch him staring at me. Lust fills his perfect eyes. "Come with me, I'll get a table for two," he says.

He gets the waiter to seat us near the back of the resturaunt where there is only a handfull of people.

"Tell me about yourself, Aria," Adam says softly.

"What would you like to know?" I ask shyly.

"Everything."

"Um...well...your band is my favorite thing in the world," I say. Color floods his cheeks, and I pause. We gaze into each other's eyes, and I can feel the intensity rising. I become nervous, and I continue with what I was going to say. "I like sports, shopping, and the ocean. I write and take pictures. My favorite animal is a dog. I especially like Charlie," I add, and he laughs.

"Would you like to meet him?" he asks.

I ask him to repeat what he said, unsure of whether I heard him correctly or not.

"Come to my house and meet him," he says nonchalantly.

"You live in LA! We're in San Francisco right now," I point out.

"So? Aren't you on Christmas break from school?" Adam raises his eyebrows.

"Yeah. So?"

"I'll fly you down there. You'll love it!" he says, excitement in his heavenly voice.

"I don't know..." The waiter cuts us off and asks what we would like to drink.

"I'll have chardonnay," he says, "How about you, babe?"

I smile at his sign of affection.

"I don't drink. I'm only 19!" I blush. "I'll have a Pepsi, please," I say. The waiter nods and leaves.

"You're only 19?" he says, a bit concerned.

"Yes...is that a problem?" I ask in a worried tone.

"No, of course not. I just don't know if you want such an old guy like me," he says, looking down.

"I don't want you. I need you," I say, shocking myself with my confidence.

"I think I need you too. Come with me to LA?" he pesters.

"I'll think about it..." I desperately want to go, but what would Jess and my other friends think of me?

We both order ravioli and talk about his band until the food arrives.

"Mmm, this food is good. The only person who makes it better is my mom. She'd love to meet you," Adam says.

I had almost forgotten about his sweet mother, Patsy.

"I guess I'll go to LA with you, but promise that you'll have me back in time for next semester?" I ask.

"Of course, darling," he responds.

It's getting late, and Jess and I have a long drive to get home. I excuse myself and go to get Jess. I am happy to see her having a good time, and even happier to see Jesse's arm around her shoulder.

"We should really get going, Jess," I say sadly.

She sighs but agrees and gets up to leave. Jesse surprises us all by standing up and kissing her quickly on the lips.

"What can I say? He's a ladykiller," Jess giggles. The boys groan at the bad Maroon 5 reference and we walk out of the resturaunt. We almost make it to the car when Adam pulls up in a red sports car.

"Can't get enough of me?" I ask, smirking.

"I could never get enough of you," he says.

"Is that you or the wine talking?" I wink.

"Me. Hey, babe, I forgot to get your number from you!"

My cheeks turn a dark shade of red. The thought Adam Levine wanting my number never even crossed my mind, even after I agreed to go to LA with him.

"How silly of you," is all I can say.

God, I sound like a child.

He hands me his phone and I put in my number. I hit the home button and I see that the selfie he took with me earlier is his home screen.

"Aaaawwww," I say, leaning in to hug him.

Adam has other plans, though. He swiftly moves in and kisses me on the lips.

The kiss seems like it goes on for hours and I can feel the electricity shoot through my body.

If only we had a bed, I thought to myself.

The kiss ends sooner than I want it to, and I feel sad.

"Don't worry, there's much more where that came from," Adam says, turning around to get back in his car. He waves goodbye and speeds off.

"That man will be the death of me," I say. Jess just nods in agreement, unsure of how to respond to everything that has just happened.
