Theia's Pov

The next morning, I woke up to the sound of voices—except it wasn't just Laura's this time. My eyes cracked open, immediately assaulted by the sunlight streaming through the large windows of the guest room. Ugh. Way too bright for this early in the morning. I squeezed my eyes shut for a moment, groaning, before finally forcing myself to sit up.

The room was simple but cozy—a queen-sized bed in the middle, a large wardrobe against the far wall, and a built-in window seat that looked like the perfect place to curl up with a book. Sheer curtains filtered the light just enough to make everything glow softly. The bed smelled like fresh laundry, and for a fleeting second, I considered flopping back down and going right back to sleep.

Unfortunately, the voices outside weren't going away, and now my curiosity was waking up faster than I was.

Dragging myself out of bed I put on some normal clothes and I shuffled toward the door, rubbing my eyes. The voices grew clearer as I stepped into the hallway—low and familiar, and definitely coming from the living room. That was weird.

The moment I stepped into the room, I froze. Standing there, looking way too casual for my liking, were Clint, Laura... and Steve Rogers. Oh, and Tony Stark, of course, because apparently, my morning wasn't chaotic enough.

My eyes widened as I stopped dead in my tracks. "Well, hello," I said, crossing my arms as I walked closer. "Nice to see you. What, did you run out of world-ending crises to handle? Thought you'd just drop by for breakfast?"

Laura snickered, handing me a cup of tea, which I gratefully accepted. "Thanks," I murmured before turning my full attention back to the three Avengers standing in the middle of the room like they owned the place. Well one of them did but we are just going to ignore that.

"You left me here. No warning, no heads-up—just gone. Like, poof! Disappeared!" I accused, narrowing my eyes.

Tony, of course, looked completely unbothered. "Look, kid, no hard feelings. We had to go, so we went. Now we're back, so let's go. Simple as that."

I blinked. Is he for real? "Are you serious right now? That's your excuse?"

"Well, if you want something more heartfelt, I could play you a sad violin track. FRIDAY, cue emotional background music—"

"Tony," Steve warned, sighing.

I huffed, crossing my arms tighter. "Why should I even consider going with you?"

Tony barely even hesitated. "Do you have anywhere else to be?"

Damn it. He got me there, and he knew it. The smug look on his face made me want to throw my tea at him, but unfortunately, Laura would probably frown upon that.
