Nandini
I rushed inside the hall room when I heard a man's painful scream from outside.
The sight that unfolded, caught me off guard.
I saw a familiar figure, knowing it's Jimin. Both of his hands were in his pockets, staring at the front.
And a man, on his knees in front of him.
His head hung low, whole body covered with bloody bruises.
I slowly walked forward, standing beside Jimin while looking at the man.
-"You....called me?"
When I finally looked at Jimin, a genuine surprise washed over me.
His usual warm eyes were now cold, holding a calculative gaze instead of a soft one.
A vein on his forehead was visible, making his anger clearer than ever.
His eyes were fixed on the man.
He scoffed, smiling mockingly, as if he didn't hear my earlier question.
-"You're lucky that I'm not a mafia..."
I looked at the man again, feeling a bit confused.
It's pretty sure that he has done something wrong.
Otherwise....Jimin isn't the type to get angry like this.
-"Who is he?"
I looked at Jimin again. He only gestured me with his eyes to look at the man.
When the man finally looked up, my confusion faded.
And I'm sure we both noticed the way his gaze changed from pleading to boastful as soon as he looked up at me.
-"Where did you find him?"
I looked away from the man, feeling uncomfortable by the familiar obscene gaze.
-"It was easy."
I sighed as Jimin replied curtly, still staring deep into the man's soul.
After a moment of silent tension, I muttered under my breath, my eyebrows still furrowed
-"I don't want to see him."
-"You're ignoring it. Again."
I looked at him when he spoke, his low voice stern enough for me.
-"But I don--"
-"Learn to face your fear, Nandini."
His voice raised this time, successfully making my earlier decision waver.
I opened my mouth to speak, then closed it again, and stared at him with a hesitant expression for a brief moment before looking away.
Seeing me looking away, hesitant and confused, torn between my urge to run away from my fear and follow his command to face it, he spoke up again, in a calmer voice
-"What was your fault?"
I listened to him only, with a distressed look on my face.
-"What was that ten-year old little girl's fault? Do you too, think that she deserved what she got? Injustice, pain and a darkness to carry through her whole life?"
My head started aching with the stress as he raised his voice again. But I didn't have the courage to face that darkness again.
-"Answer me."
