More than a game chapter 7

Eli leaned against the tree trunk a football in his hand. All day Eli was ambush by random people congratulating him once again for Friday game. Plus he was being follow by Chantay Black asking him millions question for the anti-Grapevine. He was glad that he survives the rest of the day without snapping at someone. Eli closed his eyes.

"Can I sit down?" Said a voice. Eli didn't bother to opens his eyes with the fact that he know that voice to well. He knew that he and his dad is going to end up talking about what happen this morning.

Bullfrog sat down next to him. Neither of them talks, Just looking at the sky. Bullfrog took a deep breath and look at Eli." Eli I'm sorry. For everything I had never realize how important football had become to you. Everything you said this morning was true. I have been working too much to notice anything. I want to change that. I want to be there cheering you on the football game. I had talk to my boss and he had let me get my old shift, so now I'm going to have time for you and your mom."

Eli took a deep breath." Dad I shouldn't had never had say all those stuff to you. It was wrong I was angry and I wasn't thinking."

"Everyone make mistake it just human nature son, And it's not your fault made me realize I haven't made time for you or your mom."

Eli looks at his dad and smile." Thanks dad."

Well Folk this game have been one hell of a game. Both teams had proven that they want to win this game. But The Panthers are leading the Tigers 14-14. Elijah Goldsworthy had a great game so far. Two mind blowing touchdown. There is two minutes left can Goldsworthy win another game for the Panthers.

Eli was surprise that he still had enough energy to get up from the bleachers. Since the game started he had been tackle brutally. And the tiger's defense didn't care. They all laugh down at his face as Eli gets himself up. He didn't wanted to give them the to see his weaknesses. Now Eli was crouching behind the guard. He can hear his parents and Clare cheering louder than any other Degrassi Fan. He looks at their direction and saw his dad giving him a thumb up! Eli took a deep breath before saying hut.

Eli huddle back a few feet's. He looks around wildly nobody was clear. Eli ran left and then saw Finnegan moving left. Eli threw the ball to Finnegan. The ball spiral over three Tigers defender helmet before Finnegan caught it but at the same time Hogan the biggest guy in the Tigers brutally tackle him forcing him to fumble the ball. Eli saw the Tigers Cornerback rushing to the fumble ball. Eli ran as fast he could. The nearest Eli got to the ball the shorter his breath get. Coach Johnson hasn't taught him what to do when the ball is fumble. And Also Eli wasn't exactly an athlete so his running wasn't that fast.

Eli caught the ball and started to run. Coach Johnson was running from the sideline along with me as we were having a race. In the corner of his eyes Eli saw Hogan running beside him. Eli started to panic as Hogan was getting closer to him. Eli did the first thing that came up in his mind. Hogan jumped and Eli duck and Hogan made contact with the grass. Eli continued running trying to prevent himself from getting tackle. He slows his speed as arrive to the end zone.

Touchdown! Degrassi had won again. This makes their third straight win. Eli Goldsworthy is on fired Five Touchdowns on the last three games. Well Ladies and Gentleman that the end of this game. Eli was shaking hands with Coach Johnson when small hands cover his eyes. He spun around and saw Clare smiling up at him. She wrapped her arms around Eli neck. "Good job superstar" said Clare. Eli leaned and kisses Clare softly. "So I was thinking after I take my shower you and me go celebrate this victory." Ask Eli rubbing her back.

CeCe and Bullfrog ran to Eli and gave him a hug. "You were Fantastic Today Son." Said Bullfrog and CeCe nodded in agreement.

"Thanks Dad."

"I was thinking the four of us can go to dinner to celebrate what you think kid?" said Bullfrog wrapping his Arm around his wife.

"Dad, Mom I would love that but me and Clare had already made plans."

"Have fun kids." Said Bullfrog smiling

Eli and Clare nodded and Eli turned to face Clare." Let me take a quick shower and get Change."

Clare Nodded and walked away with CeCe and Bullfrog.

An Hour Later Eli and Clare arrive to the above dot. The room was crowd with loud Degrassi students. The Guard stopped Eli and Clare. Eli pulled his wallet of his pocket and took out a ten.

"They don't need to Pay Walter. They are cool with me!"

Peter Stone appear behind the guard. The Guards stepped aside and let Clare and Eli inside. "Peter I had no problem paying to get inside." Said Eli as he kept a firm hold of Clare as they follow Peter

"Don't worry about it Eli" Peter said before heading behind the bar.

"Shall we dance?" Clare offered her hand. Eli smiled and led her to the dance floor. They dance for half an hour before Clare was starting to complain that her feet were killing her.

"You sit down and I'll get the Drink."

Clare nodded and took a sat down at the nearest table. Clare kills time by watching people dancing on the dance floor. She didn't notice three well build guys approaching her. The blond haired boy was the first one to speak;

"What's your name cutie?" He said smiling showing the perfect white teeth.

"Um…I'm Clare."

"Well tell me Clare how come a beautiful girl like you is sitting here all by yourself?

The blond guy and his two others friend was getting closer. Clare prays that Eli come now. The blond guy was running his hand softly around Clare arm.

"Hey what the hell are you doing to my girlfriend?" Clare sigh in relief as she heard Eli voice. Eli was standing in front of the table, his face was turning red in angered. He placed the drink down on the table and was now face to face to the blond guy.

The blond guy turned to Clare." This is your boyfriend" the blond guy laugh and his two other friend joined the laughter as well. The blond guy faced Eli.

"Look kid your girl need a real man not a little boy" the blond guy said. He softly hit Eli face. Eli was had enough of this he grasp the blond guy wrist and punch him square in the mouth. The blond guy friends caught him before he almost falls to the ground. The blond Guy touch spit out blood and glared at Eli who had his arm around Clare.

"This isn't over. We will meet again. Mark my mine words" with that the blond guy and his friend walk away.
