More than a game chapter 18

Without waiting for Coach Johnson, Eli ran inside the waiting room, then to the to the secretary desk. "I'm looking for Adam Torres." Eli said breathlessly. The Nurse shuffle to her papers, and took her precious time to find the room Adam was located at. This pissed Eli. The nurses pop her gum before looking at Eli. "Room 105"

Without saying thank you, Eli ran as fast as he could. He ran all the way down the hall, and turned a sharp corner, where he bumps to someone. "Aah. Mr. Goldsworthy I'm assuming you heard about Mr. Torres little incident?" Eli eyes widened as heard Doctor William Voice. Eli quickly jumped to his feet and extended a hand. Doctor William gratefully took it, and Eli lift William off the ground.

"How is he doctor?" Eli asked, not wasting any time.

"He's fine! His catheters tube had a little problem."

Eli sighs in relief. "Can I see him?"

It only took a nod. And Eli jogs to Adam room. He opened the door, and saw Mrs. Torres picking up the grey tray off Adam lap. "Hey buddy" said Eli standing on the doorway, a smirk played in his lip. Adam saw Eli and indicated him to come to him for a hug. Eli hugs his best friend."How are you?"

"I'm good. We won the game." Eli said. Knowing that Adam would want to know that they had beat Barnwell. Adam slaps Eli in the back." Yeah I know."

Eli smirks at Adam. And went over to give a hug to Mrs. Torres; she lay her head in his shoulder. They both let go and Eli took a seat next to Adam bed, and they talked for a good half an hour, until the door was opened and Doctor William slipped inside.

"Mrs. Goldsworthy can I have a word?"

Eli looks at Adam and Mrs. Torres, before getting up and follows Doctor William out of the room. Doctor William closed the door behind him, and looks at Eli. He took off his glasses and cleans the lens before placing them back in his face.

"Eli I don't know how to say this-" Doctor William started.

"Doctor please just tells me what's going on?"

"Both of your parents, and your girlfriend were hit by a drunk driver."

Eli felt light headed. His parents and Clare were hit by a drunk driver. He leaned against the wall to make sure he doesn't faint. He looks at Doctor William.

"Where are they right now?" Eli whispered.

"They're in Room 200 upstairs, but E-"

Before Doctor William finished his sentence, Eli ran past him and ran to the nearby stairs; he jumped every few steps, hoping that he will get upstairs faster. Eli jumped the last three steps and ran as soon his feet landed to the floor. Eli ran but manages to keep in count the rooms.

195,196,197,198,199,200.

Eli almost fell as he made a sudden stop. He opened the door, only to see two nurses blocking the doorway. "Sorry son you can't be here" said the big bury one.

"No you don't understand. My parents and Girlfriend is in there. I got to see them" Eli said as he struggles to pass the two nurses. He managed to slipped pass them, and suddenly regrets it; the heart monitor that stood in front of his dad bed, was screeching, Doctors and nurses hurried to Bullfrog bed and the heart monitor.

Eli felt the two nurses grabbing him around the waist. Eli struggle to escape their grips; "What's going on with my dad?" Eli screamed. A brunette doctor came to Eli and places a comfort hand on his shoulder. "I'm sorry son. Your father is gone. Eli looked over the doctor shoulder. "Dad please answers me!" Eli screamed, expecting a respond. Eli felt to his knee and tears fell down his cheek.

Eli felt people lift him up, but Eli didn't move. He punches the closes wall. His knuckle white and small speck of blood runs down his hand. The brunette doctor led him outside. He felt the brunette pulled him onto a hug. Eli laid his head to her shoulder.

"Eli." Eli pulled away from the nurse, and saw Clare and his mom running to him. Eli let go off the brunette, and caught Clare in mid- air. His cried became louder. Clare and CECE were safe. He let go off Clare and hugged his mom. "Dad is d-d-dead." Eli whispered shakily.
