Kirishima looked at the scar before he glanced away. He sighed as he pressed his face into Bakugou's shoulder.
"There were so many times that I thought that you did," Kirishima mumbled, a hand going across Bakugou's stomach for the one lifting his shirt up. "That's one of the things that come with being a hero," he sighed.
"Were there times that I thought that you did?" Bakugou asked, laying back down. The redhead glanced away. That was a yes.
Then Kirishima huffed and started to laugh sadly before sighing.
"You were always so pissed when I ended up in the hospital without your acknowledgment," he told the blond. "Always said that you were going to kill me if I died," he laughed. It didn't seem all that humerous, but Bakugou was beginning to understand that that was just how their humor worked. Or perhaps it was just his.
"I knew you were just extremely worried," he continued.
"What did you think about it then?" Bakugou asked. "The first time it happened?" He asked further. Kirishima's eyes darted away and a sorrowful look came upon it. He didn't say anything as he fully laid down and buried his face into Bakugou's neck, wrapping his arms around him and snuggling into him. Bakugou placed his hand on Kirishima's arm.
The silence continued and it was clear that Kirishima wasn't going to talk. So Bakugou wiggled out for a second to put his hearing aids on the charger before laying back down in his previous spot, Kirishima rewrapping his arm around Bakugou. The blond wanted to know so much more. But Kirishima always had a problem with talking about the serious stuff.
Wait how does he know that? How could he be so sure?
Probably from him regaining his memories. He ignored it and just went to sleep.

The next morning, Kirishima had been correct, Midoriya did call him to ask for suggestions. The redhead had given a few, but they still weren't exactly sure what was going to work, especially since he's already remembered somethings about Kirishima and Kurai.
They we're at a dead end and they weren't sure where to go from there. So they'll have to wait.
Kurai wasn't too happy about that. She wanted this done and over with. Kirishima couldn't lie and say that he doesn't either. But he felt like that would hurt the blond's feelings. But it was also hard not to feel that way. The redhead understood that Bakugou was still his husband, but he really missed how the blond used to act. Funny, how that is. Bakugou having been rude, shouting, and-well-explosive, you'd think the redhead would want him to act differently. But right now, he really missed his husband flipping him off.
But he did explain to Kurai that since it's actually working, everything would be fine.
For the time being, they'll give Bakugou a break from the extreme intake of memories and Midoriya time to get the rest planned. So, Kirishima decided to have them spend it together. Although Kurai was hesitant, she did eventually agreed as it was still her papa, and she's had fun with the new him.
It did take a minute for them to decide on where to go, but they decided since it was summer, to go to the beach. They had a pool, yes, but it's more fun to get out of the house. Not to mention sand. Although it was messy, there was things like making sandcastles that made up for it.
Kirishima got everything packed and decided to wear a wetsuit instead of his usual swim trunks. He still didn't want to tell Kurai and Bakugou about the scar. It wouldn't be too weird, he's worn it before-mostly when he knew he was going to go surfing. But he got their towels and Kurai into her swimsuit and gave Bakugou his to put on, then got everything in the car, and they were driving off.
Before they left, Kirishima decided to invite the squad to join them. Of course, they accepted.
"Kirishima, how have you been!" Mina immediately went for a hug.
"Better," he confessed. She pulled back and smiled at him sincerely. Everyone then got their turn of hugging the redhead and Kurai, some went to the blond as well to give him a hug. Although Bakugou didn't hug back and instead just tensed up, not feeling comfortable.
Once that was over, their friends ran towards the water excitedly. Kirishima and Bakugou stayed back. The redhead wanted to set everything up and the blond wanted to stay by Eijiro.
There were small moments, especially when lifting something heavy, the redhead's face would distort for a split second showing some sort of pain.
"You okay?" He eventually asked as he watched Kirishima struggle to lift the cooler out of the car without any pain.
"I'm fine," Eijiro looked up and pulled an uncomfortable smile. It was unconvincing to Bakugou. He knew something was wrong.
"Are you sure?" He asked, rubbing the back of his neck. "I could do the heavy lifting if you're feeling sore," he offered. Kirishima's smile dropped as he considered it, looking at the situation he was in. He sighed and agreed.
Bakugou lifted the cooler with ease, along with all the other heavy weighted items. Kirishima lifted the more light weight items. Katsuki tried convincing the redhead to just let him handle it, but Kirishima was persistent on helping. He also helped Kurai get her mermaid swim vest on so she could join the squad in the water.
"Stay close with Auntie Jiro!" Kirishima called out after her once he finished putting it on her. Knowing Jiro just likes to chill in the water while the rest of the squad rough house, it was safer for Kurai to stay by her.
"You're not going to join her in the water?" Bakugou asked as Kirishima sat down on one of the laid out towels.
"Someone needs to stay by our stuff and make sure it isn't stolen," the redhead shrugged.
"I could stay," Bakugou told him. "I probably don't remember how to swim anyways," he rubbed the back of his neck.
"I don't want to leave you behind Kat," Kirishima explained. Bakugou nodded and sat down beside the redhead. "We should still put some sunscreen on," he eyed Bakugou's body.
"Sunscreen?" The blond asked as Kirishima reached over into one of their bags and pulled out a bottle. Probably should've put some on Kurai before she ran off.
"Protects you from the sun," Eijiro explained as he squeezed the bottle to put some sunscreen on his hand. "You usually were very persistent on it, but I'll have to do it now," he explained and rubbed his hands together after he put the bottle down.
Bakugou hummed. Kirishima put his hands on the blonds shoulders and moved down to cover Katsuki's arms. Then he moved to the blond's chest and began covering it with sunscreen. He moved up to Bakugou's face making sure to stay clear of his mouth and eyes. Finally he covered his legs.
"Lay down, it'll be easier for me to get your back," Kirishima explained. Bakugou said nothing as he followed the redhead's orders and lied down on his chest, his arms supporting his head. He was a little surprised when Eijiro's hands finally made contact and he started massaging the sunscreen onto his back.
"There," he said at last, removing both of his hands. "All covered," Kirishima laid down to meet Bakugou's face. The blond sat up and the redhead followed.
"I'll go get Kurai to put some on her," Kirishima said and was about to stand up but a hand on his shoulder pushed him back down. He looked up at Bakugou in confusion.
"I'll go do it," he confirmed, standing up and started making his way over to Kurai. Katsuki was being too caring. Kirishima had a worry that perhaps he figured it out that he had a scar from that...incident with the blond's quirk. But like Bakugou had said previously: he was just sore. That'll have to be the lie that he sticks with for Bakugou and Kurai.
