My head slowly resistant the urge of the repetitive pounding. Daniel suddenly grunted out of pain. I took a glimpse of him. He looked in extreme pain, his eyes tightly shut with his hands clutching his stomach. I couldn't help but feel the slightest amount of sympathy towards him."Is he alright?" I asked softly. Nicholas looked at him with distaste. He brought his knees up and relaxed his arms on them. I quickly looked away out, as I realised I was staring at his defined biceps.
"He'll get over it. It's nothing compared to what he did to you" he said as he looked into the distance. His tousled hair made him look like he was a model in a photo shoot. I inaudibly gulped down the panic that was still running through my veins from the incident. The nausea feeling suddenly came back but I tried my best to push it back.
"I am fine now. Really. Just a bump"I said dubiously with an awkward laugh. He looked at me with a blank face. My stomach churned in discomfort. Oh no. I breathed in and out quickly but it did no good. I quickly got up and dismissed my aching head. I ran towards the bushes and threw out the contents in my stomach.
"Ava" Nicholas' voice rang over my coughing. I felt his hand rubbing my back soothingly as he pulled my hair up and away from my face. "I think you should go to the hospital"he said. I felt horrible and slightly embarrassed. I shut my eyes, inhaled and stood up straight. I felt Nicholas' hands let go of me. I dubiously wiped my mouth with the back of my hand, luckily nothing disgusting was left on it. I shook my head.
"My mum would get worried sick, I couldn't do that to her" I said. My mouth felt dry as I swallowed what little saliva I had left. He shoved his arms in his pockets and pursed his lips.
"She would get worried if you didn't go to the hospital, when there was a chance her daughter could of gotten a concussion" he said as he brought one hand to push back the strands of hair in his face. Eugh...I bit my lip as I realised he had a point.
"If I vomit again or if I feel weird, I promise you I will go to the doctor or hospital or whatever" I said. I wrapped my arms around my body as an attempt to contain as much body heat as I could. My feet were aching now, all I wanted to do was go home. Nicholas' warm breaths were visible as white puffs, because of the chilliness. He looked around as if in deep thought and licked his lips. I looked down and played with the dirt. We fell silent, even with the loud music and screaming coming from inside Luke's mansion, it felt like the whole world had quietened. My teeth were chattering. It was so cold, I could feel the goosebumps riding up my arms, as I rubbed them.
"Are you cold? If you like I can give you a hug, I am hot after all" Nicholas asked with amusement laced in his tone. I looked up at him, to see him smirking. I rolled my eyes playfully. How I would die for a hug right now. I shook away my thoughts and tried to seem relaxed.
"Are you seriously not cold?"I asked tilting my head slightly at him. He gave a small smile and shrugged. I looked at his shirt and gestured towards it.
"Sorry about the dirt" I said jokingly. He furrowed his eyebrows and lifted his shirt up slightly to get a better look. As he did so, his tanned abdomen was slightly put on show. Thankfully he let go of his shirt before I started drooling.
"It isn't your fault, at least it makes me look more of a bad a$$" he said dismissively. I chuckled softly.
"Nicholas, oh my gosh! What happened to you?" a high pitch squeal that was all too familiar came through the bushes. I bit my lip nervously and mindlessly looked down to a very distraught looking Daniel. Natalie definitely had guts for coming here after what she did. Nicholas gave a heavy sigh and ran his finger through his hair. I finally turned my head slightly to get a view of Natalie. She must of freshened up before she came here. She was glistening, I must of seemed like a goblin-or something uglier, compared to her right then. I wanted to leave so badly but my feet wouldn't budge. I let out a little sigh as I rolled my head back.
Her face was covered with fake worry. I bit back any rude remarks as she came over. "Are you okay baby?"Natalie cooed as she caressed Nicholas' face. I looked at them with a mix of bemusement and annoyance. Is this a sick joke to her? Nicholas pushed her hands away and and gave her a hard look.
"I don't think you should be worrying about me after what just happened" Nicholas said sounding irritated. Was he inferring to me? Natalie looked confused for a moment. Then her eyes flickered down to Daniel without giving me a second glance. She stared at Daniel with annoyance.
Natalie looked back at Nicholas and smiled. "I'm breaking up with him, don't worry babe" Natalie said in a sickly sweet tone. Nicholas' fists clenched but he seemly forced himself to unclench them.
"I was talking about Ava. I don't give two sh*ts about him" Nicholas said through gritted teeth. Natalie slowly looked at me. Her eyes were filled with such hatred it almost frightened me. She gave me a fake smile.
"Sorry didn't see you there. Would you like me to call daddy to take you home" Natalie said. Daddy? Is she kidding me? My mouth gave out a "ha", as I looked at her sending daggers. I gave Nicholas a quick glimpse. He looked furious, to say the least.
"After all you've done to her, you have no right to be such a b*tch. You'd think that at least one of your personalities would at least likeable...but there isn't" Nicholas said venomously. Natalie looked at him, but she didn't look angry instead she looked...sad. Obviously she must of realised because she quickly hid it.
"You are just a bit tired Nicholas. I am sure all this anger will wear away. In the mean time..." Natalie spoke as she neared Nicholas. This was clearly a tactic of hers to distract him. He looked angry but I could see the confusion behind it. She slung her arms around his neck and looked at him seductively.
"What are-" Nicholas was cut off by the sudden trail of kisses Natalie had left on his neck. I looked away. This was becoming even more uncomfortable.
"I-I should go"I stuttered as I starting collecting myself. I wasn't sure if they heard me but I started leaving.
"Ava...wait" Nicholas said sounding breathy. His tone just infuriated me even more. Why can't he push her off? I turned around sharply.
"Sorry I can't wait for you two...to finish. Thanks for your help though"I said bitterly, directing the last part towards Nicholas. He at least had the decency to try and push her off once I looked at him in the eye.
"Natalie, get off"Nicholas said irritably. I tightened my lips together. Seeing them like that made me angrier than it should of. I turned around without waiting for him. I am done waiting. He needed to be the one who stepped up. I walked as quickly as I could to Mia's car. I hoped at least one of them were sober enough to drive because I hate driving. I hastily pulled out my clutch, which I surprisingly kept hold on during the ordeal, and rang Lauren.
