Chapter 29

"Oh Jessica. You didn't honestly believe I would let my brother date someone like you, did you? Oh, you did? How sweet." She laughs, her green eyes glaring in my direction as my face turns from a teary eyed mess into a fierce scowl.

"You don't know a damn thing about me, Amber. I get that Toby is your brother and all, but that doesn't mean you get to rule his life!" I growl out.

"But I do have a say in who he dates." She smiles evilly.

*earlier*

"Hey Jess." Toby smiles, kissing my forehead.

"What do you want to do today?" I ask.

"We could hang out at my house and watch movies if you want. You could meet my parents?" He replies, his eyes shining.

"Y-your parents?" I squeak, trying to stay calm.

"Yeah, they will love you!" He grins, leaning down and kissing the top of my head.

"Okay. Just let me go tell my parents and get ready first." I rush.

"Jessie, you look just fine. Relax."

I was currently wearing a red plaid button up, jeans, my boots, and my hair was in a 'messy' side braid.

"Okay. Just let me go tell my mom." I answer.

"Okay. Hurry back, beautiful." He smiles.

Amber's POV.

Toby: *hey. Let mom and dad know I'll be back in 10. Oh and I'm bringing Jess. :)*

Me: *Okay.*

"Mom?" I call.

"What is it, Amber?" She smiles.

"Toby will be home in ten minutes. And he's bring his new girlfriend."

"Oh that's good. What's she like anyway?" She inquiries.

"You want the truth?" I say slyly.

"Of course."

"Well. If you ask me, she's a stuck up brat. I think she's using Toby. She didn't even say hi when we saw her at the dress store. Honestly, I don't think Toby should be with her." I lie. Honestly she seems nice but there is something about her that seems dangerous.

"I think you need to call your brother and tell him that he needs to be home for dinner. No guests." She replied sternly.

"Okay." I smile sweetly.

Toby's POV

"Hey Jess, I have to go. Mom said I had to be home for dinner and that tonight wouldn't work out." I sigh.

"Oh... Okay." She sighs.

"Hey, I'll see you tomorrow, okay? I love you Jess." I say, kissing her forehead.

"Okay. Love you." She smiles.

"Love you too, beautiful. See you." I say, leaving.

"Bye!" She calls.

Jessie's POV

Just as I was turning to go inside, a car pulled into the driveway. Inside was Toby's sister, Amber. I walk over to her car and she rolls down her window.

"Can I help you?" I ask.

"Yeah. Climb in. We need to talk." She says, venomously.

I listen and climb in. We drive out of the driveway and head out toward the trails.

Just then, I get a call. From Toby.

"Hello?" I answer.

"Jessica, things just aren't going to work our between us. I'm really sorry. I gotta go. Bye." With that he hangs up, leaving me baffled with tears in my eyes.

Amber looks at me and smiles sadistically.

"Oh Jessica. You didn't honestly believe I would let my brother date someone like you, did you? Oh, you did? How sweet." She laughs, her green eyes glaring in my direction as my face turns from a teary eyed mess into a fierce scowl.

"You don't know a damn thing about me, Amber. I get that Toby is your brother and all, but that doesn't mean you get to rule his life!" I growl out.

"But I do have a say in who he dates." She smiles evilly.

"Take me home. Right now." I say, my voice low.

"Yes ma'am." She mocks. Taking me to my house.

As soon as we get there, I bolt out of the car, over the paddock fence, and onto Comets back. I spur him into a gallop and soon, we are out of sight and into the woods, where I let more tears fall.

Hello people! I am leaving for Horse camp in a few minutes but I wanted to finish this chapter and post it before I left. I won't be back until Saturday the 8th and I won't have my phone with me so I won't be able to update. I love you all and I hope you enjoyed the chapter. :)
