As the class dwindled to an end, I thought about Whisper. Wondering what I was going to do when I got home, I made my way to my locker.

My backpack was over stuffed and really heavy. Thankfully, I rode the bus. As the bus pulled to a stop in front of my house, I ran to the barn, ditching my backpack on the front step.

Whisper nickered when she saw me. I had to fit her to a saddle. Grabbing her halter, I tied the rope to the other side, making a makeshift bridle. When she was done figiting, I led her to the round ring so I could mount up.

As soon as she saw the ring, she stopped dead in her tracks, pinning her ears. I turned to see her ears flat on her head, a malicious look in her eyes that could only be described as fear. My mind flashes to the note. Her owner abused her. And from the looks of her behavior, he abused her in a round ring.

I decided to lead her to the porch instead, figuring it would work as a mounting block for now. She relaxed a little but was still tense and nervous. I jumped onto her back and she jumped forward about a foot. Pulling back on the rope, I made her stand still until I cued her into a slow ambling walk.

We got to the end of the drive way before a squirrel darted in front of us and that's when all hell broke loose. I gripped the rope tightly hoping that I wasn't going to be thrown off because it was only just now that I had frogotton the most important thing. My helmet.

Hi! I'm back! I'm so sorry for the really long wait and for the short chapter. I have a huge case of writers block at the moment. :/ I'm hoping that it goes away soon. Pic of Whisper on the sideAnyway. Thanks for reading. :)

Goodnight my purple pencils!
