A lot is happening in this chapter.
Another early update, but I'm trying to make up for the countless late ones I've had with this novel!
400 votes for the next chapter please!
And don't forget to check out my instagram to see Jayson's new look!
Congratulations to.... Angie & @Paris_Summer12
I mashed up both of your looks in order to create Jayson's new style! It's a little bit Capitol, and a little bit Jayson :) Thank you so much!
And thank you to everyone who entered! All of the looks were AMAZING.
Seriously, it was so hard to choose!
You are all the absolute best!
So I hope you enjoy this extra long chapter! (and the P.O.V's in it!)
xoxo Andrea
Luke's P.O.V.
"Holy..." I breathe, staring out at the arena around me.
The landscape seems endless, the gloomy sky overhead continues for ever, although I'm certain it's a mirage of the Game-makers creation. The only problem is, I'm trapped inside of it.
Four giant walls encase me, eleven Tributes and my three bandmates, inside a giant concrete box.
And I know what's on the other side of it, a maze. Just like the novel, with walls that constantly shift and change, terrors around every corner.
And as far as I can tell, not all of us are going to make it out alive.
How on earth did we end up in here?
That's a rhetorical question, I know the answer.
The Capitol is trying to teach someone a lesson, Jayson Beres to be exact. The fiery personality from District R that I have come to know from our time in the games together.
From the moment we had our first date and she rejected a kiss from me, I knew something was different about her. She certainly wasn't like the other Tributes in these games, or in any other game, and the Capitol thinks she's a threat.
And this her punishment, for speaking out against something she thinks is wrong.
She has to watch us all die.
It all happened so fast...I didn't have a moment to process any of it.
One minute I was watching the post arena interviews with the rest of the guys, and the next, we were being taken away and locked in our room. Before being sedated...And now, here we are.
The Husband Games have taken a nasty turn.
Let the lesson begin.
~~
I hear a few short gasps behind me as the rest of the Tributes and my bandmates awaken, it seems I was the first to come out of my sedated state.
We're all lying in the middle of a grassy meadow, The Glade.
I pick myself up off the ground and look around at everyone else as they all stumble through different states of confusion, before realising where we are.
"No...We can't actually be here." Belle, an ash blonde Tribute from District O mutters as she swivels her head around the arena.
I run a hand through my hair and sigh, "I honestly wish we weren't."
