Well, happy early Halloween Guys! (We don't really get into it too much in New Zealand, but I hope you all have fun!!)
I hope you all enjoy this chapter, it's slightly short, but a new one will be coming soon.
And right now I'm semi freaking out, there's a lot of stuff going on right now for me and I've been really busy!
Thanks to everyone who give me birthday wishes the other day (28th) (even though I didn't really mention it!) I think I'm officially an adult now or something...Slightly freaked. :O
Only 200 votes for the next chapter, I hope you all enjoy it!
Sorry about the wait, and I hope you're all enjoying Dexterity too!
xoxo ~ Andrea
Chapter 37.
FIGHT!
My heart pounds in my ears as our attackers approach us.
There are no figures though, no flesh, no bone, nothing.
Our enemies...Are our own shadows.
I can tell this, because the shadow moving toward me has a gun, and when I click the safety off of mine...She silently does too.
What a way to die, via the bullet of a shadowy gun.
It's obvious that my shadow wants to kill me, a perfect weapon of mass entertainment designed by the Capitol, I bet they've been waiting forever to show this to the country.
But how do I kill it?
I decided to sprint towards my shadow, and it sprints towards me at the same pace.
We pass right through each other.
What???
This is so weird.
I glance around my fellow tributes, a few of them have figured out what is going on, and have stopped fighting too. But there are some, ready to stab their own shadow...And in turn, themselves.
"STOP!" I shout.
The rain continues to pour and a feeling of utter hopelessness fills me.
I don't know what to do, how do I kill my own shadow?
There must be a way, but I'd better figure it out fast.
"HELP!" Hannah L cries out, as her shadow runs towards her with a shadowy replica of her blunt kitchen knife.
"Put the knife down!" I yell at her.
She shoots me a bewildered look, but drops her knife.
The shadow continues to run at her, but the knife has now disappeared.
Hannah L shudders as the shadow passes through her.
"What on earth...?" She gasps, before her eyes roll back and she collapses on the wet ground.
Great, now she's fainted.
"Perfect..." I sigh, rolling my eyes slightly at the irony of it all, Hannah basically made herself faint.
But I have more important things to think of.
"We can't use our weapons against them!" I scream at everyone, as the tributes around me move in a chaotic blur.
