Chapter 14.

“You dropped some freaking gigantic hints before I entered the last arena Etsy - thanks for that by the way - so why don’t you have anything for me today?!” I groan, doing a few quick star jumps as the two of us finish getting me prepped in my chamber under the second arena.

That’s right, only an hour after I left that horrid fearscape of an arena, I’m thrown back into another one.

Oh God, what if it’s going to be like another teen fiction novel.

Thoughts run through my brain as I think of all of the popular teen novels right now, and I come up with a couple of scary arena prospects.

The Maze Runner arena: The twenty-four of us come up into a glade and are forced to find a way out of a crazy maze filled with nightmares and the first four out win.

The If I Stay arena: The twenty-four of us each get to have heaps of one on one time with the guys until we all end up in a car crash, and the four that survive win.

The City Of Bones arena: The twenty-four of us discover we’re actually shadowhunters, get heaps of runes on our arms and run around chasing demons, the four that can actually handle that win. Come to think of it, Luke would make a pretty convincing Jace.

I’m just thinking of what a The Fault In Our Stars arena would be like when Etsy replies.

“I don’t know anything this time around Jayson, darling, but I’m sure anything will be an improvement on the last arena though. Although I must say, that fearscape was very fun to watch!”

I shoot her a glare.

“Sorry.” She replies, and hands me a pile of clothes.

I quickly inspect the contents of the pile.

“Ew, what on earth am I wearing these for?” I complain, staring at the pieces.

“For the arena, of course.” Etsy chuckles and comes to stand beside me.

I sigh as I look down at the clothing again and shudder, because what I have to wear for this arena is this: Combat boots, tribal print slouch pants and a worn tee for some alternative band I can’t even pronounce the name of.

“Yeah, it’s not the greatest set of garments, is it sweetie? But it was the best I could do, us stylists had to stick to a strict set of rules when creating these outfits.” Etsy explains, giving me an apologetic look.

“It’s ok.” I reply, and head into the changing room to pull the pieces of clothing on.

A few minutes later I return in the most contrasting and weird outfit I’ve ever worn - and that’s saying something, because I wore underwear over my leggings only a few weeks ago.
