Firstly (I feel like I start every chapter update with this.)
I'M SO SORRY. *(Plays Imagine Dragons in the background)*
Here are my excuses.
1) I got the deadly NZ flu of DOOM. It sucked. I was in bed for a week.
2) I spent a week performing a musical.
3) After that I had a week of exams.
4) I am now trying to get a ton of internals done, get a lot of admin out of the way for next year and am trying to get paintings done for my art portfolio.
PHEW!
Ok, now that's out of the way, you probably can't even remember what happened in the last chapter.
Well, here's a recap.
No one has died in the arena YET. Jayson and Dale got to District U, and then made their way to District O.
Dale Kissed Jayson...
Yup, that's where we're up to!
Only 250 votes for the next chapter! (Because I feel so bad about the huge delay! And I don't even know if anyone is reading this novel anymore :( )
Enjoy! you guys are the best,
xoxo Andrea
Chapter 32
Luke's P.O.V.
"What do you think they want from us?!" Ashton snaps, pacing back and forth in the dusty lounge as we try to figure out what the Game Makers are up to.
He reaches up and rakes his hands through his hair, frustrated, just like the rest of us.
"I thought they were going to kill one of us last night! Well, what are they waiting for?!" He continues.
I sigh, "Do you think we know anymore than you do?"
He glances over at me, and his face softens slightly, "I guess not..."
"I understand that this is frustrating, but at least someone didn't die last night, that's a good thing, right." Bekka, the raven haired girl from District M2, inputs.
Ashton nods and stops pacing, "I guess you're right. But I'm just freaking out that one of us could be killed without a moments notice. This is insane. The games aren't supposed to be like this."
Lucy stands up and gives Ashton a comforting pat on his shoulder, "Come on, this isn't going to solve anything."
"So what can we do? I don't want to sit here and wait to die." Calum muses.
"There's got to be a way out..." Belle Nolee mutters, clenching her small hands into fists.
I push up off the floor and look around at the group, "Well, I'm going to go and explore this place, see if there is anything that can help us. Anyone coming?"
Ashton, Bekka, Belle, Jimmy and Lucy decide to join me, whilst the rest of my bandmates and the other Tributes opt to search other areas.
I steel myself and push open the creaky door of the house we're all cramped into, heading back out into the glade.
It's hard to admit this to myself, but I don't think we'll find anything. There's no way out of here. This isn't a challenge, it's just prolonged torture.
