Chapter 2.
Oh my God, I am literally, the worst sister ever.
But as an excited smile forms on Steffie's face, two guards usher me up onto the stage, past my sister, who is standing on the steps giving me the deadliest look I've ever seen. If looks could kill, this one most certainly would.
"You've still got loads of years ahead of you, Mal, this is my chance to win a real man." I mumble in her ear as I walk past her, up the steps and onto the stage.
"Well, well, well! It seems we have our very first volunteer this year!" Steffie remarks as I come to stand next to her standing sheepishly in my 'superman' style getup.
Oh, I should probably mention how the volunteer thing works, you see, you can only volunteer as a tribute if you are the older sibling and a younger sibling gets chosen. The whole volunteer thing rarely happens, because the younger girls are hardly ever reaped, and also because most people don't have siblings.
But today, the seasons were in my time...in a way.
"So, honey, what is your name?" She croons.
She tilts the microphone so I can speak into it.
"Jayson, Jayson Beres."
"What a lovely name, and I can see you are using the whole volunteer thing to your advantage!" She adds.
I gulp, feeling really guilty. But I need this chance, because if I hang around in District R, I'll end up marrying Dale, I know it. And I feel like he's just not the right guy for me!
This is my one shot, and I'd better not screw it up.
I then go and take the last seat, next to Anna, who gives me a friendly smile as her giant green floatie pushes into my side.
"Well! That concludes this years reaping! Congratulations to our tributes this year!" Steffie addresses the crowd, ending the ceremony.
But then, the strangest thing happens, and I watch as the crowd begins to get into partners, and in no time, the whole crowd is doing a signature 5SOS dressing room dance, they're doing The Pony, this is a great sign of respect and good luck, I feel honoured.
Then, the four of us are ushered off the stage, and are immediately take down to the town hall, where we are given an hour to say our goodbyes to our family and friends.
The fact that I'm even a part of this years games is still yet to sink in, I haven't fully registered this yet.

The room I'm going to be stuck in for the next hour smells musty, it's got that whole 'old' smell to it. And everything in it looks positively ancient. But I flop into the old brown couch anyway, I mean, it's not like anyone is going to come and see me...
The door flies open.
"You are the worst sister in the whole entire universe!"
I look over to the door, to see my sister standing in it, seething.
