I put my book down as my assistant knocked on my office door, "Mr.Knight and Mr.Fonte are here." I had a meeting with Gray and another businessman today, and I had been looking forward to it all week. I hadn't seen Gray in about a week, and I was excited to get any bit of time with him.

"Let them in," I said calmly, and she moved aside so the men could step in. Gray immediately moved to the same chair he always sat in since the first time he came to my office, and Dom went to where my alcohol was. "Hello, gentlemen."

Gray smirked, "Hardly gentle, Ale." I raised an eyebrow, then chuckled as I heard Dom scoff.

"Enough with the flirting, if I wanted to watch people have sex, I wouldn't be here right now," he said as he took a seat next to Gray

"Let's get to business then." I said as I grabbed some of the papers off my desk. I started discussing details of our business transaction and every so often I'd shift my eyes over to Gray who was looking at me like he was thinking anything except business.

He knew all the details of what I wanted to talk about. I spoke about it with him on the phone a little bit. I cleared my throat, and he chuckled as I continued talking.

Every time I looked at him, his eyes scanned my body, but never my face. His thoughts were purely sexual...not that I minded, but I wasn't going to go down the path of friends with benefits. I loved him too much for it not to hurt.

When I finished my talk, he sat up straight and spoke, "Sounds great, I'm on board."

"Yeah, I don't know about this one, Ale," Dom said

"Are you a fucking idiot" Gray said to Dom "This is a great idea. It would boost your dying business."

Dom stood up. "First of all, you're the idiot, and second, don't you ever speak on my business, Mr. Disappear for 2 months. How'd that go for your business, huh?" Gray stood up and got close to him

"Guys," I said from my desk as I rolled my eyes, but they continued to speak. I rolled my eyes again as they spoke over me, so I stood up and slammed my hands on the desk. "Guys," I yelled, and they both stopped and turned to me.

Gray raised an eyebrow, then smirked as he looked at the veins on my arms. He was liking what he saw "Both of you shut the fuck up." I turned to Dom. "This is what's best for you. With the way your market is crashing, this will slow the process down long enough that you can come up with a solution to benefit us all."

"Fine. I'm in." I smiled, "But I work with you, not him." he looked at Gray

"Fine, I'll relay information between you two." he smiled then we shook hands. He finished his drink and left, leaving Gray and I alone. "Thank you for making this deal." I said as I walked to my drink cart expecting him to leave.

"You looked really fucking good comanding the room like that." I chuckled until I felt him close behind me. "I'm serious."

"Gray-"

He lightly put his fingers on my arms and traced my tattoos, which stopped me from speaking. "I thought you wanted me?" he said in a low tone

"Not like this," he didn't say anything as his fingers kept moving.

I turned around breaking the contact. "Come to a wedding with me tonight. It's last minute I know." I looked at the clock which read 10 AM "It starts at 7:30 you could be my date." He chuckled "Gray I miss you. Come on, it's just one date. We've done it before."

"Maybe." he moved closer and fiddled with the button on my shirt. "We could just forget the dating and have fun right now. Who needs a fancy wedding?"

As much as I didn't want to, I grabbed his wrist and stopped him "Because we could have a second chance." he chuckled "It will be fun."

"Sex is fun."

"Do you just not want to go to a wedding? I can plan something else?"

"I don't get why sex isn't good enough for you." I pushed him off me and huffed. I pushed past him and walked to the other side of my desk. I put my head in my hands and just lost it.

"Fine, Gray!" I started to yell, "I give up! You don't want to make us work, I get it, but please stop dragging me along if you seriously don't want to be together! I love you, but I won't love you forever if you give me nothing to love. I want to be with you. I want to love you forever, and I want you to love me. If you don't show up tonight, I'll know how you really feel and I will do you the favour and quit on whatever this is...on us."

He was silent. "I'll text you the address, and I'll have someone drop off a new suit for you." I sat down at my desk and opened my laptop immediately, bringing my eyes to it so he knew to leave. "I hope you wear it," I heard his feet move and the door open. "I hope you show up." I looked up at him, but I couldn't read his face.

He walked out, and I just shut my laptop and sighed.

...

It was 7:25 and my heart was pounding. I had spoken to some people I knew but for the most part It was just me and my drink. I was sitting on one of the benches in the altar at the edge just in case he showed up.

I was listening to the guy next to me talk about god knows what as I stared at him absent-mindedly, wondering if Gray would come.

I pulled out my phone. 7:26. I went to his contact to see if he had texted me. The last message was me sending him the details. I sighed and put my phone away. "You need to learn when to stop talking," I said to the man next to me, and he paused and turned away.

I rolled my eyes at him and sat forward. I ran my hands through my hair aggressively. My heart was hurting and now I had to watch two people who had what I didn't commit to each other forever.

Conversation started to die down as it got closer to 7:30. There were still a few conversations going but for the most part it was pretty quiet.

Suddenly, the doors opened and everyone turned their heads. I stood slowly. My heart pounded.

Everyone turned back in their seats and went back to conversation as soon as they noticed it wasn't the bride. Gray saw me immediately and walked over to me. He stood in front of me. He wasn't staring at my body, but he looked me in the eyes.

"You came," I said softly

"I did," he said even softer

"The suit looks good on you." he was wearing the one I had sent to him.

"Ale I-i don't know how long it will take for us to get back to us, but I will put in the work for the rest of my life to make it happen. I love you, Ale, and I'm sorry for making you fight for me to say it."

I smiled widely, "I love you too." He leaned in to kiss me, and the doors opened again. This time, everyone stood up around us, and I pulled away, noticing the bride walk down the aisle. As I watched, I felt a hand hold mine and the cold metal of a ring brush my finger. I looked next to me at my hand to see that it was Gray holding my hand, his half of the matching rings I had bought us was displayed on his pink finger. I looked at his face, and he was smiling; the dimples I loved so much looked almost permanent with that smile.

He looked up at the couple, then back at me with a knowing smile that we would be alright.
