~Kyrra's POV~
I woke up on my unmade bed, curled against Staraster's warm body. I hadn't been here when I fell asleep last night! I glanced over suspiciously at Arrow on the floor, who was snoring, and Melina's empty bed. Last night...I shot up, blinking against the sun rays as usual.
The storm was over! I silently whooped and nudged Staraster awake, and then crept out of bed before I could be assaulted with her tongue and attempted to silently tame my hair. A difficult quest. Looking at myself in the mirror after I had changed, I realized I was tired of my outfit. It was time for something else. But what? I also realized it was a very special day today.
I snarled at my hair as the brush caught in my bangs, and winced as Arrow rolled over. I watched him in the mirror and smiled. The sun was well over the horizon, and he was still sleeping. He looked dead. Sighing, I pulled out something from under my bed I had been working on with Hiccup.
He had told me before he had turned himself in that Gothi was all better, much to the village's relief. I frowned, worried about him. I was tugged out of my thoughts by Staraster nuzzling my project, her tongue lolling. I wiped her drool off of it. Her purple eyes smiled at me. I picked up the saddle in my hands, studying it.
It was almost done. I tweaked it, adding a leather adjustment on each side to keep the foot holds on. I hushed my dragon, grinning. We went outside and I strapped on the saddle, buckling it in. To my immense pleasure, it fit well. My dragon bounded around in a circle, her tail thwacking the ground.
"Now, girl, what do you say we go get some breakfast?" I asked, already knowing the answer.
My answer was a howl.
~Melina's POV~
I sat on the snow, shivering against Karma. Why were all the places I ended up stranded at cold? I could see Berk's warm silhouette in the distance. I had figured out this morning that the Skrill had lightly fired at me last night, enough to knock me out for a long time. Karma had carried me here, and I still didn't feel 100%.
I had had a horrible dream last night about the torturers and Hiccup being chained to that chair, and then Dagur riding Toothless to go conquer Berk. I shoved snow into my face, forcing myself into reality. Freezing water ran down my throat and I shuddered, looking around.
Spark had curled herself up nearby, her head tucked under her wing and her tail wrapped around herself. Karma's left wing had gotten some of the electricity, and Spark, well, her right wing had been really wounded. I thought she must have basically crash landed, but Karma had struggled to slow the impact.
I could see how much of her wing was blackened, and I guiltily stared up at the clouds. The Skrill was gone, and so was my hope. Maybe I was just destined not to go home. Even if I was moody about it, Arrow was there, and I did want to see him.
This island was barren of all dragons however, all life actually. My stomach rumbled and I figured the dragons had to be hungry too. We would figure this out, as soon as Karma's wing healed. I liked to think it had been wounded protecting me.

~Kyrra's POV~
I had said my goodbyes to my Woolly Howl before lining up for Valka to choose teams. Capture the Flag was sort of a new thing at Berk, but it would be better named Capture the Viking. All rules were off, and weapons, fighting, and capturing were all allowed, even encouraged.
The only rules were don't ditch the game, no killing, no "harassment," and no dragons. Easy enough. I slipped on the blue shirt for my team, and the red team lined up across from us, on the other side of the field. Arrow pulled on his red shirt and winked at me.
I shook my head at him, my hand moving to my knife in its holster. Katana used to love this game. I imagined Staraster pacing in my house, howling with frustration. Valka, Astrid, and Cloudjumper stood on the tall spire in the middle of the field.
"Your objective-make it across the other teams' territory and claim their flag!" Valka instructed, finishing a long, mandatory rules session. Her face tightened, and I guessed she was worried about her son. She shook it off and handed the blue and red colored flag to Astrid, and our team got in their positions to sprint.
She brought the flag down, and a horn went off at the same time. I darted into the trees on the right, my heartbeat pounding in my ears. I could only hear it, my breath, and my footsteps. I didn't want a glinting sword aimed at my neck anytime soon. I ran until I had to stop, my breathing coming in and out quickly, and I heard yells and grunts behind me as the fighting started.
I spotted players on both teams dash past me, ignoring me. A nasty red teamer appeared up ahead, one that was known to attack people. He swung his sword in his hand, whistling as he walked in my direction. He had shaggy brown hair, a stout body, and broad shoulders. I ducked behind a tree, trying not to breathe.
When I dared to look if he was there, I saw him twenty feet away, with three other reds flanking him, outfitted in knives and bows and maces and swords. I heard a terrified shriek and saw the leader pick up a blue teamer girl that had practically run right into him by the front of her shirt.
I clenched my teeth and turned back around. Sweat inched down my temple and my pulse thudded. This was the part of this game I did not like. It was killing me not helping her. I reluctantly watched as the red shoved the girl into his friend's arms, snickering.
The boy who now had custody of her, Tastav, a lanky, tall, popular Viking, poked her with the tip of his pure white sword, forcing her back the way they had come. He had a cocky aura about him.
The first prisoners were being taken. I minimized my breaths, and shut my eyes. I listened to their laughs as Tastav forced her back towards the reds prison and the other bullies went uphill. I stepped out from behind the tree, unmoving. "Mmph!" I cried as a dirty hand clapped over my mouth from behind.
How did that happen?! The hand retreated after the initial surprise was over and a cold knife appeared at my throat. I froze, feeling a rough arm wrap around my stomach. My throat tightened and I swallowed.
"Hello Kyrra," a quiet voice sounded in my ear. That little piece of dragon dung! I jammed my elbow into Arrow's chest, hearing him gasp, and started to run until I was tackled by something extremely heavy. "Oof!" I yelped, the breath coming out of me.
I deflated, groaning. I attempted to lift my face up from the dirt. Arrow waltzed over to me, grinning, and twirling his knife.
"You cheater!" I squirmed, trying vainly to get out from under Bonecrusher. "I had you, but you made me use him," Arrow said defensively, shoving me to my feet and putting his knife and arm around me again. I felt the blade press into my neck.
This was so unlike him; he wasn't usually this weird. I wasn't afraid of him. Was I? Arrow leaned in to my ear. "This is revenge," he growled softly. I almost laughed. For last night? Really? "You're so much like her," her murmured, staying by my ear.
What was going on here? "Arrow, stop," I muttered, trying to pull away. "Why should I?" he said, annoyed. "Are you going to break the rules again?" I asked, leaning forward into his knife and feeling my arms trapped behind me. It was better than my prior position.
He sighed and pulled away, walking beside me. Bonecrusher lifted into the trees and vanished. He kept his arms around me, trapping both of mine with just one and making no mistakes. "Are you seriously going to jail me?" I asked skeptically. His grip on the blade tightened.
"No, I'm going to murder you," he said sarcastically. I wanted to shake my head at him again. Of all people. I had to credit him on his stealth though. I could see an increasing amount of reds, and their home base appeared up ahead in a small clearing behind a grouping of large trees.
It was a tall, shanty, wooden structure, with two stories and an open, dirty tunnel through the main floor. There was a deck all across the upper floor and reds hung out it, sitting on the sketchy railing. I was starting to get worried. This wasn't the Arrow I knew. Who was he, and what had he done with Arrow?
They smirked at me, laughing at my lameness. Was the game already over for me? I stopped, and Arrow did too, annoyed. He didn't wait for me to protest again and jerked me forward. My neck was definitely bleeding.
We went into the base and passed rows of cells, almost half full. The walls and floor were made of dirt and messy torches lined the open corridor. I had never actually been caught before, or caught someone, but I could see now that the creators had put a lot of work into this, even if this place looked like an ancient, rotting shack. Arrow led me into the dark cell at the end and smiled at me, enjoying that fact that he was in control.
He took a set of rusted keys off of a hook on the right side wall. Those were what I needed. I eyed them carefully, but he had the knife at my neck the whole time. Arrow took the handcuffs attached to chains on either side of the cell and hung my wrists in them.
"Gods hating piece of dragon dung," I muttered at him, but he just laughed and locked me in. I stared into space, my wrists uncomfortable. I was hot and sweaty. I could get rescued...right? My mind drifted uneasily to the scene in the woods once he had left.
Where was the Arrow I knew, my real best friend? Had he died with Melina?
I had a feeling I would know soon.
