~Kyrra's POV~
I dreamed of Dagur. I was in an almost lightless room, bound to the corner by nothing at all. When I attempted to move everything from my neck down was paralyzed. I didn't know it was Dagur at first. All I could see was a tuft of red hair peeking out from behind a chair in the opposite corner. "Oh hello, Kyrra," Dagur smirked.
I gasped. "Dagur?!"
"Hmm?"
"How are you in my dream?" It couldn't be real, of course. My head was making it up. I fought to move. He shrugged, revolving around to face me. "Guess I could ask you the same question. But really, I dreamvisited you. Thought you should know something about your sister."
"What have you done to her?" I snarled, straining my neck. He laughed. "More like what she is going to do to you. I've been in her dreams every night now, asking her to marry me. But what did she say? She said no!" Dagur slammed his hand down on his armrest angrily, breaking eye contact.
"Because she's saying no," he seethed, "I'm going to attack Berk and take her for myself. Again. And her dragon and the Night Fury, too. I wonder if you have a dragon, Kyrra?"
I raised my head firmly. "You can't have my dragon. She's with me now." Panic writhed inside me despite my confidence. I had to get back and protect my sister! "But maybe I already have her in my clutches," Dagur grinned. "Maybe I have your sister, too!"
"Kyrra? Kyrra!" a voice echoed in the room. "Mel?!" I cried, struggling. "Where is she?!"
Dagur lowered his finger to the middle of the room, and a chair appeared, slowly. Melina was chained to it, her body limp and barely conscious. Her hair was tangled and her face was bruised, her clothing ripped. "Kyrra?" she whispered.
"Melina!"
I turned on Dagur. "Let her go!" He studied his fingernails. "Only when I have her." He made a little noise, a chortle in his throat, until it evolved into a full out laugh. He rose from his chair and stalked up to my sister. His hand flashed out and slapped her across the face. She flinched and I bucked my neck, furious.
"What do you want, Dagur? What is it you want?!"
Dagur turned to face me, bending over and brushing his hand along my cheekbone. I winced back. "I could always take you," he mused. "You're basically the same person, right?"
"Take me," I whispered, staring him in the eyes. "Leave her alone and take me." His hand hovered on my cheek and his gaze wandered there. "You have three days," he compromised, standing back up. "Or I'm taking little Lina. And, Kyrra?"
He snickered, walking back over to Melina. "Be careful who you trust."
I sat upright with a jolt, looking around wildly for Staraster. "Star? Staraster?!" Looking around wildly, I realized she was gone. And --  so was Loki. "Nadder dung!" I cursed. He might just been out hunting, but I was still mad at him.
Suddenly my dream flooded back, and the image of Melina haunted my thoughts. I glanced at the algae filled satchel, furrowing my brow. "I have to get to her. I'll find Loki and Staraster, but if I go to her, I'll miss the Snoggletog Wraith. Nadder dung!" I fumed again. "It must have real. It was so visceral."
I glared at the stream. The bright light of the sun winked at my eyes. It beat down on me unrelentlessly. I sat by the stream for what seemed like forever until I couldn't stand it. "I'll train a dragon. It's the only way to find them."
Slinging the satchel over my shoulder I set off. "This is one way to find out if there are any dragons here," I muttered. He should have been back by now. He took my dragon!
As I stalked through the forest something shifted in the corner of my eye, like a shadow moving. I turned, wary as the leaves rustled. I took out my dagger, staring hard. The colors of the woods blurred before my eyes and slowly a dragon materialized out of the leaves. I gasped, my hands shaking as I gripped my knife with both hands.
It morphed into a dark red, cocking its head at me. A Changewing. This meant there were more around. I didn't know much about Changewings, but I knew they traveled in packs and spit melting acid. I jerked my head from left to right, breathing hard. Were there more of them?
It slithered towards me. What looked like seaweed hung off its tail and head but it was part of the chameleon like dragon. It was small, and its yellow eyes pierced me. I slid my dagger into its pouch, shaking, and raised my hands. It was terrifying. I'd heard stories but never seen one.
It stopped a few feet from me, curious. It glanced over my shoulder at the satchel, twitching its nose. Did it eat the algae? It would make sense since it lived here. I slipped the bag off my shoulder and reached in, grasping the slimy stuff. I tossed it at its feet.
The Changewing slurped it up, its pupils widening as it reevaluated me. I gave it a little more, placing the algae closer. Strangely, it didn't begin glowing, but my hands did. I closed the bag as it crawled up to me, low to the ground. My hand reached out to touch it.
It let me, not quite pushing its about into my hand but just grazing it. "Hey," I cooed. It made a small noise in its throat. I looked around quickly. "We better get out of here before your friends show up. Holly? Can I call you that?" She smiled a little so I climbed on her.
Holly hissed, not entirely happy about this. I barely had time to grab my bag before she shot into the air.
~Arrow's POV~
"Arrow!" Vera exclaimed, running up to me. "What is it?" I asked, sliding off Shadow after the races. Could it be news of Kyrra and Loki? Vera sprinted to me, her long hair billowing around her face. When she leaped up the steps and pushed through the crowd she breathlessly put her hands on her knees. Worry scuttled across my face, and Shadow brushed up to me, lightning nervously crackling along her frills.
"It's Melina. She won't wake up!"
