His apartment was silent, too silent. Y/N stood near the window, arms folded tightly across her chest like they could hold her broken pieces together. The sirens outside had long faded, and the lights had stopped flickering—but the chaos inside her hadn't settled.
She hadn't seen Bakugo since the explosion. And when she finally did, his presence was like a storm crashing back through the front door.
He slammed it shut behind him, body covered in sweat and soot, shirt half torn, and blood streaking his cheek. "You're okay," he said roughly, eyes scanning her. "I was worried."
She nodded, voice caught in her throat. "I'm fine."
He approached her quickly, cupping her face with calloused hands, and kissed her like he needed it to breathe. But she didn't melt into it this time.
Her hands pushed gently against his chest.
"Bakugo—" she said softly, but he ignored it, his lips trailing down her neck, his arms already wrapping around her waist.
"Don't," she said, more firmly this time.
He froze. Pulled back. Confused and wild-eyed. "What?"
Y/N took a shaky breath and stepped back. "We need to stop."
His face hardened. "The hell are you talking about?"
"This... us," she whispered, "It doesn't feel right anymore."
His hands balled into fists at his sides. "You serious?"
"I was trying to forget someone," she admitted, tears pricking her eyes. "I used you to push him out of my head, and it wasn't fair to either of us."
Bakugo's jaw clenched, the muscle twitching violently. "Don't you dare say this meant nothing."
"It didn't mean nothing," she choked out. "But it wasn't everything either."
His voice dropped low, dangerously low. "You're talking about Todoroki."
She flinched at his name. Her silence was confirmation enough.
