The room was dim, lit only by the warm glow of the city lights seeping through the curtains. Y/N sat on the edge of the bed, her heartbeat still racing from the kiss they had shared just moments earlier. Bakugo stood across the room, back turned, his fists clenched tightly at his sides like he was battling some inner war.

"You gonna keep standing there like a statue?" Y/N asked, her voice soft but teasing, trying to break the tension.

He turned slowly, eyes smoldering, the look in them wild and unreadable. "You don't get it," he muttered, stepping closer, each footfall heavier than the last. "This—us—I didn't think it'd be this hard to stay in control."

Y/N's breath hitched. "Then don't."

That was all he needed to hear.

Bakugo was on her in seconds, his mouth crashing against hers with a force that stole the air from her lungs. It wasn't gentle this time—it was heated, frantic, like he was trying to erase every memory she'd ever had of Todoroki with each kiss. His hands gripped her waist, sliding under her shirt, pulling her toward him until there was no space left between their bodies.

She gasped as his lips trailed down her neck, teeth grazing the sensitive skin just below her jawline. "You drive me insane," he growled into her skin, his voice hoarse and low. "Always have."

Y/N threaded her fingers through his hair, pulling him closer. The sensation of his lips, his breath, the weight of him pressed against her—it all made her dizzy. She arched into him, needing more, feeling that fire in her chest finally roar to life.

"You always knew how to piss me off," he whispered against her collarbone. "But it's never just been that. You're not just some girl to me, Y/N."

She looked up, her lips parted, eyes wide and swimming with emotions she hadn't dared to name yet. "Then what am I?"

Bakugo's eyes flickered down to her mouth, then back to her eyes. "You're the one who got under my skin. The one I couldn't stop thinking about... even when I tried to."

Their lips met again, slower this time but just as intense. His hands roamed lower, gripping the hem of her shirt and pulling it over her head in one swift motion. She returned the favor, tugging at his hoodie until he shed it like it was on fire.

She traced her fingers over the scars on his chest—battle wounds he never spoke about but bore with pride. His breath hitched when her fingertips brushed a particularly jagged one near his ribs, and she pressed a kiss there, slow and deliberate. He inhaled sharply.

"You're not making it easy to be gentle," he muttered.

"Who said I wanted you to be?" she replied, biting her lip.

Bakugo swore under his breath and picked her up again, her legs instinctively wrapping around his waist as he laid her back onto the bed. His kisses turned more desperate, more consuming, until they were both breathless. Clothes were discarded in heated movements, bodies tangling in sheets that felt like they were burning with each touch.

Just as he leaned down to whisper something against her ear, something she wasn't ready to hear but desperately wanted—

BOOM.

The windows shook. A faint blast echoed from the streets below, sirens immediately following.

Bakugo froze. His body tensed like a live wire, his instincts immediately kicking in. Y/N sat up, heart pounding—not from the intimacy this time, but from the sudden snap back to reality.

"What the hell was that?" she asked.

Bakugo was already halfway dressed, grabbing his communicator. "Something big. That wasn't some petty villain." He looked back at her, the fire in his eyes replaced with something colder, more focused. "I have to go."

Y/N's stomach twisted, the warmth from moments ago replaced by dread. "Be careful."

He nodded once, lingering in the doorway, his mouth opening like he wanted to say something. But then he was gone, and she was left alone—bare, flushed, and shaken—both from him... and from the unknown outside.

The silence that followed was loud. The weight of what almost happened, and what might happen next, settled heavily in the room.

And as she stared out at the flickering red and blue lights painting the night sky, a sick feeling bloomed in her chest.

Todoroki was stationed in that part of the city.
