Ferra market was close to the end of its hustle and bustle, the early vendors were gone for the night while the late nighters were packing up for the final retirement. The vast expanse of the filthy road, normally filled with excited people, was void of any hurried movement, Instead, warm wind swished past every direction, jostled trees and dust, while taking away the damp smell of sellers and buyers and filling the air with afresh humidity.
Amidst all that was parked a sparkling car at the edge of the lane from where the market begins.
In the car sat lord Yael, nonchalant and thinking with a burning stick between his lips. The lord was hard on himself for wanting to direct his ways to the detective's door like this, he contemplated between options of leaving his car to march up to the apartment or to go back to his mansion while he stared at the building that stood in his view at the far end.
The building where the little detective resided.
The decision should have been simple for Yael, there was nothing complicated about assigning a job to one of the private detectives he preferred would be perfect for his case. But there he was outside the market with a thrumming heart and entangled mind, thinking over and over for the past half hour and smoking nonstop only to gain discouragement and complex thoughts in return.
Yael wasn't the one to hesitate to get his way through at any cost, he was confident, had more than enough aura to put influence and was effectively convincing if he wanted to. The only thing that kept stopping him in the direction of the building was the pair of those mesmerising doe eyes. The pair that fills with a sheen layer of admirable anxiety under small pressure, the pair that wavers cowardly when anyone....or Yael..... stares at them deeply and the pair that holds curious questions from the moon and back.
That's right.....the thought of those captivating orbs stopped lord Yael from proceeding.
Stepping out, Yael slammed the door shut in frustration and breathed in the humid air for a long second. He stared at the vacant passage ahead keenly, wanting to cross it and reach the rackety structure to face the boy, before he curled his fingers around the car door handle again and pulled it open.
No, it was difficult at this hour.
Maybe he will send Nyxara to fetch DJ for him to his office. Or maybe he can ask Leo.....
NO WAY!
Yael stopped mid act, the relatively cold air inside the car hit the warm skin of his hand while he pondered the latest thought. The idea of asking Leo anything regarding the tiny detective didn't set well with Yael, a slight frown that had appeared on his forehead, in his heart and in his mind all together was the proof of an unapproved progress that the lord had felt deep in his heart.
Why? He didn't know.....Ugh
Not being able to decipher his emotions, Yael turned to face the view of DJ's residence and stared at the old structure as he gathered his thoughts. Soon determination settled in his system and the fog of uncertainty faded making things clear for Yael to breathe. He cracked his neck with a sigh and took a final long drag from his cigarette before tossing it to the ground and crushing it.
After that, the walk of precision began as lord Yael strode towards the destination waiting for his majestic arrival.
...
DJ was busy washing his minimal clothes at a late hour of the night. Humming a tune, he wrung his stretched shirt and spread it on the string in the balcony before reaching for another shirt in the bucket. Since the hot weather suggested new clothes after every shower and imposed the need for clean laundry, DJ had to make sure he washed clothes at least two times a week for a better supply...... hence the needful duty the boy was busy with.
