The Lords against DJ

"I have added a few useful contacts to your phone in case of need..." Lord Yael pointed at the device sitting on the breakfast table silently, earning the attention he required from the boy, while he sliced through a thick egg roll in his plate "Just make sure it's me you find first before anyone else...should it come to that. I won't like your attention shift when I am available" he blurted out without thinking and soon after stopped mid biting the said egg roll, unable to reverse what he just said.

The dining room fell silent for a second too long, and DJ lowered his eyes to his food, shy on behalf of Yael.

The detective was nervous since the moment he had woken up and was hyper aware of the older's existence in the house. Sharing another meal with the lord was a task he couldn't bring himself to fulfil without getting anxious out of his mind, but then DJ had an agenda he forced upon himself for the day that he needed assistance and permission for, from Yael.

Munching on the tangy fruits, DJ thought about the gifts Yael had provided him the previous night. The boy found it a great deal and wanted to prove his worth so he could match the expectations as well as the kindness the lord had shown him. However, DJ lacked courage to initiate a request when his dark, innocent eyes fell over a large and daunting lord immersed in his food....... who seemed unapproachable after his slip up.

So..... DJ waited for an opportunity.

The lord, on the other hand, focused solely on the food in front of him while he tried to argue with his logical brain stubbornly. He cursed the moment when he deemed it necessary to stay the night away from Doukas mansion for the sake of his sanity. For what had transpired at the docks and the aftermath that followed, Yael didn't want to face his father and answer the unnecessary inquiry Ezekiel would impose on him. Therefore, deciding against the idea of going home, Yael stayed the night where a beautiful detective accompanied him physically and well.....mentally.....and he had no distraction under the name of 'respectful elders' whatsoever.

But now, things were turning a different turn.

Yael wasn't shy or embarrassed by what he said; it was what he felt like in the moment, yet he found himself completely under the effect of those 'possessive' words as he bloomed pink from his neck towards his ears. Dusting his hands off the crumbs, he stood up and cleared his throat for composure, and earned the most puppy pair of eyes rising to his height as DJ stood up too.

"L-lord..." he called hesitantly, breath heavy and eyes wide. Yael stopped in his tracks to look at the boy, he stared for a while until it dawned upon him that DJ wanted to ask something for which he had no courage. Meanwhile, the younger stared back at Yael without a word while he fidgeted with his fingers roughly, beautiful face burned red from nervousness while anxiety started to take over his senses.

But before any of that, lord Yael came to the rescue.

Slow and silent, he reached for DJ's hands and parted them so the harsh ministration over them stops. Yael then carefully made DJ move and stand directly in front of him...... less distant and more comforting.

"Yes?" he asked, coaxing through his voice that DJ was okay to ask if anything he needed. Yael's tone had an effect of course because DJ released a long breath of relief and curled his tiny fingers around Yael's palm involuntarily. The boy then braced himself for the request he designed to make and made eye contact with the older.......who, by the way, was waiting patiently.

"I...I...can I..... I-I mean... c-can I co-come with y-you?" DJ asked, scared of any reply, as he squeezed the older's hands in his as much as he could. The lord, whilst DJ's attempt, watched the boy amusedly. Forgotten was the embarrassed glow that appeared on his mighty self as he replayed the request the alluring DJ had made and smiled the shortest smile in the world at how adorable DJ acted.
