DJ in the thoughts

Smoking in the small expanse of the dark room, Chevy paced around with a frown etched on his face and a cigarette between his lips. The man, engaged in the whirlpool of thoughts disturbing his mind, clenched and unclenched his jaw while he breathed through his flaring nose to keep his composure. While the thoughts about his defeat at the ground of Malia by the hand of the lord of Pyro played with his mind, the cruel memories reminded him of the unpleasant encounter with the loyalty of Pyro followed by his demise.

The lord of Pyro, whom he would have never let out the dungeon, if it wasn't for that little fairy, for as long as his heart desired was free from the claws of the notorious gang leader. Yael Doukas was rescued by a mere boy, who gets scared by his own shadows, and was back to rule his unrivalled empire.

What worst of a defeat can be more than this?

While Chevy paced around the room like a wild, hungry animal....the cell phone on the table vibrated suddenly, catching the gangster's undivided attentions as well as making him nervous for the upcoming talk he was about to have.

It was gonna be a long call, he knew.

Bracing himself for an earful, Chevy then picked up the call and placed the device against his ear only to hear quiet murmurs on the other side as if the other was busy doing something. The man closed his eyes repentantly and pursed his lips before he cleared his throat and began.

"Sire..." he called out hesitantly, abashed for his failure against a helpless lord and a tiny boy. The other side didn't say anything for a while, only mild breathing travelled through the speaker making Chevy think about his superior. But then, a sigh of disappointment caught his attention and he gulped, terrified, well aware of the castigation reserved for him.

"Chevy......" the voice breathed and Chevy sensed goose bumps appearing on his skin. "I had hopes for the job I had given you, but you chose to disappoint me, didn't you? How do you call yourself worthy of this level of assignment when you can't even retain a malnourished man, half your strength, under your custody?" the man stated as a matter of fact and Chevy felt his blood boiling instantly. Despite the fact that he lost a fight against the lord and his men brutally, the man still wanted to launch an attack on Pyro so he could satiate his wild ego and bring Yael to the ground.

"A dog like you is a proven waste of my time......" the older person started again, snapping Chevy out his mental trance of fight "....it would have been better if I listened to my sources and didn't rely on a piece of trash like you" the man roared angrily and Chevy imagined him spitting on the ground in disgust like the other would usually do.

And why wouldn't he, when everything that was planned was ruined?

Everything was going fine until the period of six months, the purpose of Yael's disappearance was showing its flying colours and the things were falling under great control. However, the unexpected arrival of the tiny detective in the scene flipped the shit ten times and snatched the crucial piece of the master game right from Chevy's claws.....leaving all and everyone astonished and in the dust of that clever boy.

Alas! Nothing can be done now....

......and Chevy knew that.

"Give me a chance to explain sire, I have lost so much in all this fuss. I need money, sire, I—

"Silence!....." the man on the other side growled. "You have been fed more than you can digest already, all you do now is sleep and wag your tail for more and nothing else." He spat ignorantly, notes of disgust and noticeable humiliation for Chevy swarmed in his words making the gangster to clench his jaw tightly.
