I've moved on from you
Given up on a future
You left without a trace
Like a leaf, lost in a breeze
I was reminded that permanence
Isn't permanent after all
I left your ghost behind
And started over
I became a better version
Of myself
I used this freedom
To discover myself
To understand the being
That hid from the world
I learnt to embrace myself
Over worrying about what
You thought
I forged the new me
Out of the smoldering remnants
I improved myself
And stayed open
To new opportunities
I grew as an individual
I remade myself
After losing you
I'm not going to look back
It took pain
Pain made me realize
I wasn't happy
Heartbreak made me stronger
Out of the shadows I stroll
A person reborn
