Twilight settles
Lights dim
Doors slam shut
And children quiet
The sky changes
Orange and pink
Streak across
Clouds, bright and puffy
Turn crimson in the shadow
The sun sinks lower
And an orb,
White, clear, shining
Begins to rise skyward
To take its place
At the center
The day draws
Towards an end
In a display of
Nature's fireworks
The world begins to fall
Asleep
But the rest of the world
Awakens when the sun sinks
And the sky darkens
The world quiets
Prepares for tomorrow
And dusk rears its mighty head
In triumph
Because its stage
Is finally set
