It’s been two days since the accident, and finally today, Kook got discharged from the hospital. His forehead was still wrapped in a soft bandage, and he looked a little pale, but he was okay—and that’s all Tae needed.
Tae didn’t leave his side even for a second in those two days, barely sleeping, just watching over his little moon like his life depended on it.
As they walked out of the hospital, Kook was holding Tae’s hand tightly, and Tae kept glancing at him every few seconds, like making sure he was really okay and still with him.
They both reached home where Mr. Kim was waiting. The moment he saw them, he stood up and walked towards them. And they helped kook and tae to sit on the couch and then mr.kim said “From today, you’re not working,” he said to Tae with a serious tone.
Tae looked at him, confused, “Appa…” but before he could even complete it, Mr. Kim said, “No. You stay home and take care of Kookie. I’ll handle the company.” Just then, Namjoon walked in with a calm smile, “And I’ll help Appa. You don’t have to worry about anything, Tae.”
Tae looked at them, his throat tightening with emotion. “Thank you, hyung… I just… I can’t leave him even for a second,” he whispered. Namjoon smiled warmly and ruffled Tae’s hair, “You don’t have to bear.”
Kook, sitting beside Tae on the couch, held Tae’s hand and smiled softly, “Even Appa said so… see, you’re stuck with me now, hyungie.” Tae turned to him and pulled him closer, “I was always stuck with you, little moon. There’s no way I’m leaving you now.” Kook giggled softly and rested his head on Tae’s shoulder, feeling safe in his warmth.
In the evening, the house was filled with chaos, all because everyone had gathered to take care of Kookie. Jin, Yoongi, and Jimin were busy in the kitchen, preparing all of Kook’s favorite dishes, their voices echoing through the house with playful bickering and laughter.
Mr. Kim and Namjoon were occupied with work in the study while Hobi helped them, managing files and calls. Meanwhile, Kook and Tae sat comfortably on the couch, watching TV and exchanging soft smiles between the noise and warmth around them.
“Hey Kookieeeee!” a loud voice rang out, and they both turned their heads to see Ami rushing toward them. “I was gone for just three days, and you're already sitting here with bandages?” she asked, crossing her arms with an unimpressed look.
Before Kook could respond, she turned to Tae with a glare. “I told you to take care of him, didn’t I?”
“It’s not his fault, Ami. It just happened,” Kook replied softly, trying to calm the tension. Ami sighed and shook her head, “Fine, I’ll come back after freshening up.” With that, she walked out of the living room, leaving Tae and Kook looking at each other with a smile.
After they finished dinner, the night settled in, and it was clear that no one was planning to leave. Jin and Yoongi had already declared that they would stay until Kook fully recovered, and Jimin naturally decided to stay too. As for Hobi—well, he was there for reasons only he seemed to know.
Later that night, Tae helped Kook lie down gently on the bed. He tucked him in carefully, pulling the duvet over his small frame and brushing the strands of hair away from his forehead.
“I’ll be back with some water and then give you lots of cuddles, okay?” Tae whispered softly.
Kook nodded with a faint smile. “Okay, hyungie.”
Tae headed downstairs and filled the water bottle, but on his way back up, he noticed Hobi standing quietly in the corridor, staring at the moon through the window beside his room.
