Tae and Hobi stood in front of the guest house. The place looked quiet, too quiet. Tae's hands were clenched, his jaw tight. Hobi rang the bell, heart racing.
After a few seconds, the door opened-and there she was. "You..." Hobi muttered, eyes narrowing in disbelief.
Mrs. Jeon blinked. "Yes, me. What are you both doing here?" Tae didn't waste time. "We need to talk." She raised a brow but moved aside, motioning for them to come in.
Once they were inside and seated, she folded her arms. "Alright. What is it now?" Tae looked straight at her. "Don't act innocent, Mrs. Jeon. I know it's you."
"Excuse me?"
"You're the one who's been blackmailing me. The calls, the messages-Jungkook's accident-all of it. You're the one behind it, aren't you?" Tae's voice trembled with anger.
"What the hell are you saying?" she snapped, sitting upright. "Have you lost your mind?" Hobi leaned forward. "Don't try to deny it. We traced everything. We know it all leads back to you."
Mrs. Jeon scoffed. "I won't lie-I don't like Jungkook. I never have. And yes, I did threaten him before. I even pushed him into fear. But murder? That's not me."
"Oh, really?" Tae sneered. "You hated him enough to make his life miserable. How is trying to get rid of him forever a big step for you?"
"Because I'm not a monster!" she yelled. "Yes, I did everything to keep him away from the company. I wanted my daughter to have what she deserves. I didn't want her being second choice anymore."
"So you decided to ruin someone else's life instead?" Hobi asked coldly.
Mrs. Jeon's voice turned sharp. "I did what I had to. Before I married Mr. Jeon, I was tossed aside like trash. My first husband gave everything to another woman. He left me and Yuna with nothing. I lived that humiliation. I will never let Yuna go through that!"
"And what about Jungkook?" Tae barked. "What about the way you made him feel? You tore him down for something he didn't even do!"
She stared at him for a long second. "I never meant to kill him. I just wanted him scared enough to back off. And when he did-when he left the CEO seat-I stopped. I haven't done anything since."
"You expect us to believe that?" Hobi asked with disbelief. "After everything?"
Mrs. Jeon looked away for a second, then back. "I don't care what you believe. I protected my daughter. I don't feel guilty."
Tae stood up, his fists clenched. "You say you did all this out of love, but all I see is a selfish woman using her pain to justify destroying someone else. Jungkook didn't deserve this. He's suffered so much."
Mrs. Jeon's voice dropped. "You don't get it. When you've been hurt like I have, when you've watched your child almost fall into the same pain-you do anything. Anything to stop it."
"So you passed your pain onto someone else," Tae whispered, shaking his head. "You didn't protect anyone. You just made another person feel as broken as you once did."
The room went quiet, her expression unreadable. When mrs.jeon stayed silent both hobi and tae left the place without saying anything.
Taehyung sat in the car, his head leaning against the window, eyes staring blankly at the passing lights. The silence between them was heavy, almost suffocating-until he finally spoke, his voice soft and broken.
"Hobi... do you think Kookie will hate me?"
Hobi glanced at him, then back to the road. He sighed, gripping the steering wheel tighter. "It's not your fault, Bear. It's the timing... and everything that's been piling up. Just talk to him, explain everything. He's your little moon-he'll understand."
