Chapter 33

The flight was long, but soon, Taekook finally landed in Korea. As they stepped out of the airport, they were greeted by Namjoon, who was already waiting for them.

"Welcome back," Namjoon said with a small smile as he pulled them both into a quick hug.

"Hyung, I missed you!" Kook grinned, hugging Namjoon tightly, while Tae simply nodded in acknowledgment.

After exchanging a few words, they made their way to the car. Namjoon helped load their luggage into the trunk before getting into the driver's seat. Tae and Kook settled into the back, both feeling the familiar comfort of being home.

As the car started moving, the journey toward home began, with Kook excitedly talking about their trip while Tae simply listened, occasionally adding a few words. The city lights passed by as they made their way back, bringing a sense of warmth and familiarity. Soon they reached the home

Upon entering the house, Taekook was warmly welcomed by Mr. Kim. Kook embraced him tightly, saying, "I missed you, Appa," to which Mr. Kim responded with a heartfelt smile, "I missed you too." After Tae engaged in conversation with his father, Kook's happiness faded upon noticing the guests in the living room.

Yoonmin, Jin, Hobi, along with Kook's parents and sister, were all present. Kook looked at Mr. Kim and quietly asked, "Why are they here?" Mr. Kim smiled and replied, "I planned to surprise you both" mr.kim said without knowing the truth. Tae sighed and patted Kook's shoulder, offering support.

"Don't worry, I'm here," Tae said, smiling at Kook, who nodded his head.

As they entered the living room, Kook was immediately welcomed with a warm hug. Yoongi and Jin pulled him into a tight embrace, both speaking at the same time.

"I missed you so much, bunny!" they said, making Kook smile. "I missed you too, hyungs," he replied softly.

After exchanging greetings, Taekook headed upstairs to freshen up while everyone else remained in the living room, chatting among themselves.

After freshening up, Taekook made their way back to the living room, where everyone was already seated, chatting comfortably. Jin and Yoongi were discussing something with Hobi, while Kook’s parents and sister sat quietly, occasionally glancing at Kook.

Tae noticed the way Kook’s shoulders tensed slightly upon seeing his family again, so he gently took his hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. Kook glanced at him, and seeing Tae’s warm smile, he felt a bit more at ease.

"Finally, you guys are back!" Jin grinned, pulling Kook down to sit beside him. "Tell us, how was the trip?"

Kook smiled slightly. "It was… nice. Peaceful."

"Yeah, except for the part where Kook almost cried while leaving," Tae teased, making Kook glare at him playfully.

Yoongi smirked. "Sounds like Kook."

Kook huffed, crossing his arms. "You guys missed me just as much, don’t act cool now."

Jin laughed, ruffling Kook’s hair. "Of course we did, bunny."

"Alright, enough teasing. Let’s have dinner together. I made sure to prepare all of Kook’s favorites," Mr. Kim announced, making Kook’s eyes brighten slightly.

"Thank you, Appa! You're the best," Kook said with a bunny smile.

Mr. Jeon watched the scene with a heavy heart. He had never seen Kook smile like this before. Seeing it now made him realize just how much he had lost. But it was too late to turn back time. He could only watch in silence and wish for Kook’s happiness.
