The next morning came with the same silence that now lived between them.

kook walked through the house with empty steps, his mind completely drowned in the thoughts of those messages. Every word, every image replaying like a curse he couldn’t escape. He didn’t talk. He didn’t smile. He didn’t even look at Taehyung properly. He just stayed quiet—quiet but screaming inside.

Tae watched him from the other side of the table, spoon in hand, but not able to eat a single bite. Jungkook’s distance was loud. His silence was loud. And it was killing Tae slowly. But what could he even say? What should he explain first—the forgotten birthday, the missed date, or the secret that’s about to explode about the psycho ?

He glanced at his phone. Two days. Just two days left before the one-month deadline ends. His chest felt heavy. He couldn’t breathe properly, not when his bunny was hurting and slowly slipping away from him.

kook stood up without a word, his face unreadable, and walked to the window. He stared out, lost in thoughts, the ones Tae could never guess anymore. He turned and said softly, “I’ll be in the library,” and walked away before Tae could even blink.

Tae wanted to run after him, grab his hand, hold him, cry into his shoulder, and scream “I’m trying to protect you!” But he didn’t. He just sat there, hands shaking under the table, heart breaking one beat at a time.

Meanwhile, Hobi was working relentlessly, trying to trace the number from yesterday. But no matter how hard he tried, he kept hitting dead ends, and it frustrated him to no end. Just as he was about to give up for the moment, a location finally popped up on the screen. His eyes widened with hope. He prayed this one was real—finally, a lead.

Meanwhile, kook was in his room, lost in his thoughts, drowning in confusion and pain. That’s when his phone buzzed again. His heart raced as he stared at the screen, a message from that unknown number lighting it up. His hands trembled as he opened it.

Unknown:-
So sad for you, buddy.

Unknown:-
You know your husband will go out today—I don’t know when, but he will.

Unknown:-
I’m challenging you: if he really loves you, if he truly wants to be your husband, try to stop him.

Unknown:-
If he goes out, you lose. That means he doesn’t want you anymore. He wants a divorce.

Unknown:-
But if he stops right there just because you asked, then he loves you. He’ll do anything for you.

Unknown:-
Test your love, buddy.

Unknown:-
I really want to say all the best… but I already know he’s not going to choose you.

Unknown:-
Still… all the best.

kook’s hands tightened around his phone as his jaw clenched. His heart pounded hard against his chest, but his eyes filled with determination. “He loves me,” he whispered to himself, voice trembling with emotion. “He will stop if I say. I know it. You’re not going to win. My hyungie will listen to me. He will stay.” He stared at the phone, this time not with fear—but with confidence.

By evening, the house slowly started to fill with voices again. Everyone began returning from their work one by one. Jin walked in first, followed by Namjoon and Ami, their tired faces softening when they saw kook and tae sitting quietly in the living room. Then Yoongi came with jin, ruffling kook's hair gently before sitting beside him and starting a casual conversation to lighten his mood.
