This was a one-time thing. Don't bother asking again

*Little to no time has passed since the last chapter, we see the two old friends and teammates, in the living room sipping some tea, while their children were playing outside in the backyard, being supervised by Itachi. Kushina and Mikoto could both sense that the other had Anbu shinobi looking at them in the shadows, making them wonder what the other did to cause them to have to be followed by the secret police of their nations, but both of them were ignoring that fact. Mikoto put her cup down and started the conversation between the two mothers who used to be the demons of the village.*

Mikoto: A letter would've been appreciated. I am a busy woman with being the head and all of that.

Kushina: Sorry, kinda. At least a little. But you know me. I prefer doing things in the moment rather than planning them

*Kushina said with a shrug as she tried to bring some lightness to the conversation, but Mikoto remained with a neutral expression, no longer the woman with a fire that could burn the whole village down with her ambition, but this woman? She looked like the fire that could once burn as bright as the sun had been extinguished a long time ago.  Mikoto hummed still acting professional like this was a visit with a business partner and not a childhood friend who had both saved each other's lives too many times to count.*

Mikoto: Yes, but still. Next time a letter would be appreciated

Kushina: Fine, fine, can you at least act like you missed me?

*Kushina asked with a bit of a sigh, she was expecting a hug, she was expecting some crying, anything but this robotic version of her friend that was acting more like the man she married out of an arranged marriage. Mikoto's eyes soften a little, since yes she did miss her best friend, she could've used her support when the failed coup happened between the Uchiha and the rest of Konoha. But it's not like she could show much emotion to begin with, since she is being watched 24/7 by the anbu, one wrong emotion and her people will be punished. So even if her heart was swelling with happiness, she didn't let it show on her outward appearance.*

Mikoto: Of course, I've missed you. So has Tsume. But you can't put this on us. 6 years and you never told us where you were living. You never sent us a letter, nor a place where we could send it.

Kushina: Don't try to put this on me. You are a Uchiha and Tsume is an Inuzuka. Both of you are high-ranking members of the shinobi council. Finding my location wouldn't be that hard.

*Kushina said with an annoyed huff, since how hard can it be to ask for permission from that senile old monkey to allow them to visit her? It's not like it's some grand secret, everybody already knew that Kushina was living in the capital of the Fire Nation, that she was the honorary daughter of their emperor, so it's not like they didn't know where she was located. Mikoto shrugged her shoulders, even if she did all of that there was no way that Hiruzen would allow her to leave the village.*
