Author note: apologies for being late. I fell asleep

*It has been a few days since the last chapter, as the world continues to move, people continue to die for their villages and new babies are being made to fight for a soulless machine that only cares about you so long as you can bring something to do it of benefit. We see Anko alone today in her favorite Dango shop. Naruto was off at school and she was on her lunch break. She was waiting for a table to be available and waiting to be seated, while she was waiting she remembered her last visit with Kushina when the woman thought it would be a good idea to talk shit about the child of Anko.*

Flashback to the last chapter

*Both women remained unmoving over what Anko just said, both of them waiting for the other to make a move as the tension in the room continued to grow. This was an inevitable confrontation, we all knew it, but that didn't mean that it would happen, as the anbu made themselves known, appearing in between the activated mark sealed anko and Kushina who was just a half second away from taking out her chakra chains. The leader of this group of Anbu a woman with purple hair, spoke firmly to Anko, as she pointed at the door. She had outstayed her welcome and it was time for her to leave before the situation became worse.*

Anbu: Anko Mitarashi. It is time for you to leave.

Anko: tsk. The protection of being the wife of the previous Hokage, the protection of being the head of a dead clan, and the protection of being the honorary daughter of the fire lord. Allowing the spoiled princess to say what she wants and not get punished for it.

*Anko said with each word filled with poison, Why isn't she surprised that the elite was being protected by the authority force? It's honestly laughable how many chances this woman gets, she just threatened what everybody knows is the honorary grandson of their Hokage, and yet? Anko is the one who's told to stand down. Anko scowled at the masked woman, her red eye becoming a more crimson color as her anger was being kept inside of her and becoming more volatile. Kushina scowled at Anko for what she said as she took a step forward to rebuke those claims, but the anbu spoke again, this time with one hand on her sword.*

Anbu: Once again I must ask you to leave Mrs. Mitarashi.

Anko: I'm going, I'm going. Don't want to stay here more than I need to.

*Anko said with a deep breath, as they all saw the black seals around Anko's right arm disappear and shrink back to just 1, a 3-tomoe seal at the back of her neck. Her singular eye returned to the normal white and brown as she turned around and walked out of the house, absolutely livid. The tension in the room disappeared, as the anbu felt like they could catch their breath. Kushina smiled at them in appreciation, even if she felt it was a little unnecessary that they got involved.*

Kushina: Thank you but the situation was under control.

Anbu: The Hokage will be informed that you instigated this interaction Lady Uzumaki. So you shouldn't thank us. We were just doing our job. But don't do it again.

*The anbu captain said in a neutral voice with not a hint of emotion behind her words since she was not here to protect Kushina. She was here to protect Konoha, and its people, which is why they stopped the fight before it even began, it would be bad P.R. if Anko a woman close to the Hokage attacked the other woman who was close to the fire lord of the country. Kushina pursed her lips as if she had eaten some sour grapes and gave a short nod, feeling a little insulted that the people she used to lead as the head of the Anbu Corp. were treating her like a criminal.*

Kushina: Right...

Back to the present with Anko

Anko: My usual.
