Author note: apologies for being late, I was in the zone with a one-shot story I was making. And if you're one of those lovely little readers that reads everything I make, you'll see it on Friday. But anyways, let's continue

Days later

*It's been a few days since the last chapter, since that time Konoha has been on high alert, both the civilians and shinobi wanted their pound of flesh against kumo, while a kumo representative was coming to assure them that the ones who attacked were nothing more than rogue agents. But all that is political. We see the protagonist of this story with his mother and..m his cousin? His friend? Naruto still doesn't know what to call Gaara. But we see them all sitting in an office waiting in the reception area. You're probably wondering why? Well.*

Flashback to that night

*The doors to the police station opened and there ran in anko in her sleepwear. A member of the police force came to her home and told her what happened, and where her children were right now, Anko didn't even hesitate, or take time to dress appropriately. She was wearing a purple robe and bunny-themed slippers. She made it to the reception area and spoke in a terrified tone.*

Anko: My name is Anko Mitarashi, I'm the mother of Naruto Mitarashi and the caretaker of Gaara. Where are they? Where are my boys?!

Shima: One second please. Let me look up the files. Ah. Yes. Those two are currently talking to the department's child psychologist. The officer will take you to them

*Shima said as she stood up and walked further into the police station, Anko followed behind her, as Shima read the file on the boys and what happened. Anko was horrified by how much danger her children were in, but more than that that her son... did what he had to do. They made it to a big one-way mirror, and Anko covered her mouth with her hand, seeing Naruto in that state. The boy was holding Gaara's hand tightly, his eyes were red and puffy, his breathing ragged, but all Anko could see was his eyes. They look so haunted over what he did. It made Anko sick to her stomach seeing her son like this. Anko was in such a state of shock and distress that she failed to notice somebody walking up to her and placing a gentle hand on her shoulder. Anko looked and it was the same woman who moments ago was talking to her boys.*

Nagano: Hello. I'm Nagano Shinji. You must be their caretaker?

Anko: I am. What happened? How are they?

*Anko asked with a crack in her voice, as she looked again at her boys, Naruto barely moved but Gaara did. He moved from just holding Naruto's hand to hugging him. Naruto barely moved but he did seem to relax a bit at the contact. They made Anko a little happy, which made her relax a little. Not enough as she needed to, but still it was something. Nagano looked at her notepad, and on the evaluation she had for Gaara, to start with the least affected by the situation.*

Nagano: Gaara is fine. Though I'm concerned about that, he didn't seem affected at all by seeing death so young.

Anko: he went through a long traumatic toxic family when I brought him to live with my son and me

*Anko said, being vague about, as she looked again at Gaara, the boy looked upset, but he looked that way because Naruto was upset, not because of what happened, how could he? That was probably something he did many times under orders from his father. That boy will need therapy or something. Nagano nodded, with that information, as she then frowned a little as now they had to talk to the one who had the biggest reaction over the event.*

Nagano: ok. I will recommend that he also get individual therapy for that. But let's talk about Naruto.

Anko: Please. I was informed about what happened. How he... he did something he was too young to do.
