Author note 1: for those who don't know yet, this story is on hold, until I can get caught up, and finish making new stories for the weekly time slot

Author note 2: University starts for me tomorrow. (Actually it's started last week, but I have a tradition to always miss the first week.) So, I'm updating all my stories 1 extra time this week.

*It's been weeks since the last chapter, after so long the time was finally right for Hiruzen to take Naruto to the home of his heritage, the village that once held the arguably strongest clan to ever walk on earth, the Uzumaki clan, and their forgotten village Uzushiogakure. This was a grandfather and grandson trip, as Anko and Gaara stayed behind in Konoha. Hiruzen had Naruto on his shoulders as they made it to the place that used to be the markets of the village, though you would never be able to tell, as nature had taken over.*

Hiruzen: Alright. We are here. Naruto. Welcome to Uzushiogakure. This place used to be the nation of your people.

Naruto: Whoa, it's so beautiful. So much nature!

*Naruto said with a happy smile as he squirmed in the shoulders of Hiruzen. Hiruzen chuckled as he raised his shoulder and then placed him on the ground, even with those ADHD pills, in his brain, Naruto was still just so energetic since that's just who he is deep down, an energetic person with a love for life. Doesn't mean that Hiruzen didn't give Anko a small scolding because it took her so long to listen to the do the doctors. Hiruzen watched Naruto walk around the area that was more Nature than human-made, but it still held the scars of human intervention.*

Hiruzen: Yeah. Would you believe me if I said that at one point there wasn't even a blade of grass here?

Naruto: There wasn't?

*Naruto asked confused as he heard a yipping sound, he looked and saw a small orange fox. Naruto smiled and walked up to it, seeing the signs that the fox was being playful, it got closer to Naruto and sniffed it, turning on its back and showing Naruto its- belly. Naruto giggled and started to rub the fox's belly. It made Hiruzen think that maybe the fox could sense the 9-tailed fox, inside the boy, that's why it was being so docile, but he ignored that for now and concentrated on the history lesson of this place.*

Hiruzen: Nope. At one point in time where we are standing right now was the heart of this nation, the markets where thousands of uzumaki once bought and went along their lives.

Hiruzen: "And every one of them is probably going to kick my ass when I die, for turning a blind eye when the other nations attacked."

*Hiruzen thought, knowing that he had a lot to atone for in the future, but he still stood by his decision, since the Uzumaki acted worse than the Uchiha before their failed coup with how arrogant they were being, and especially how isolationist they became under the rule of Ashina. It's one thing when it's the samurai in the land of iron, they live in a remote city in the snow, it makes sense for them, but the Uzumaki became isolationist because they thought themselves better than the rest. Naruto looked up at his grandfather confused, since if there were so many people before, where were they now?*

Naruto: What happened to them?

Hiruzen: Greed and pride. Let's leave it at that until you're older. For now, let's keep going, we are almost there.

*Hiruzen as he walked to Naruto he got more proof that the fox could sense the 9-tailed fox inside of Naruto, since when he walked up to the two, the fox reverted to its usual skittish nature and ran away. He saw Naruto smiling and waving goodbye at the animal. Animals always seemed to be more in touch with the spiritual world, in Hiruzen's opinion. But that's not important right now, just an interesting annotation. Naruto for his part grabbed his grandfather's hand and they both started to walk away from the place that at one point was the heart of this village.*
