I don't wanna let go.

I know I'm not that strong.

I just wanna hear you

Saying, "Baby, let's go home"

~

Chord Overstreet [Hold On]

Seokjin had a night shift and had gotten home around early morning. It had been a strange night for him. His shift at the hospital had been eerily calm and quiet; it would've been boring even if not for the steadily growing dread.

During the quiet, his mind would wander, and he would think about a lot. But most often, he'd just think about Jimin and Jungkook. He missed them a lot and just wanted to hear their voice once, but he couldn't risk it, so he had settled for calling and demanding updates from Taehyung.

After talking to Taehyung, he individually checked up on the rest of them, trying to quell the feeling, but it stayed with him persistently throughout the night.

By the time Seokjin got back home around 7 in the morning, the sun was already up and everyone was getting ready to go to work or school, starting their day.

Seokjin exhaled lightly, hoping to quell some nerves as he took off his apron and collapsed onto the sofa in the living room, planning on falling asleep right there.

But the sudden buzzing of his phone roused him. Secretly, he hoped it wasn't an emergency call from the hospital.

To his utter surprise, it was an unknown number.

"Hello? Kim Seokjin speaking." He spoke cautiously into the phone, holding back a yawn.

A sob.

Seokjin's sleep was gone; he sat up straight.

He'd recognize that sound anywhere, thanks to the countless times he'd had to reassure this very voice during academic breakdowns.

"Jimin?" Seokjin felt the way his voice rose in alarm, his neck tingling. "What happened?"

"Hyung," Jimin sobbed, "Jungkook..."

Seokjin's body tensed, ready to jump up.

"What happened to Jungkook?! Is he okay?"

"Hyung, I am so lost. I don't know what to do." Jimin sniffled into the phone.

Seokjin felt his heart sink. Struggling to keep his voice calm, he said, "Jimin, I want you to take a deep breath, okay? Take a deep breath and slowly tell me what happened. I can't help unless I know what's wrong. Okay?"

Jimin didn't speak, but Jin heard his deep inhales, and he encouraged him. His leg was bouncing out of anxiety, but he kept breathing loudly with Jimin.
