Where it All Began

Our Jr. Year

Wes and I had been in school for 2 months in our Jr. year. It has been great so far. I had started talking to him about college, and my plans as far as a career. As far as he was concerned, he would follow me wherever I went. I was happy with that and glad that he was going to support me becoming a firefighter. It was almost time to go dress shopping for prom and I couldn't wait. I was going with my two best friends I could ever ask for, Abby and Mikayla. Both of them had their dates and were really excited to go dress shopping so the guys could get their matching tuxes.
Abby, Mikayla and I left around noon today, it is Saturday February 7th. We had all day today and tomorrow to find the perfect dresses and shoes to wear to prom. When we got to the dress shop, we started walking around to loo, with the help of one of the employees. We had looked around for about 20 minutes when my eyes finally fell on the perfect dress. It was a light blue, strapless, high-low dress with a black lace around the middle to become a flower bow off the the side of my torso. I immediately grabbed the dress of the rack and held it out for my best friends to see. "Oh.. My.. God.. Guys, look at this!!" Abby and Mikayla both turned around to look at my dress. Both of my best friend were speechless. "Oh my god, Maddie that dress is gorgeous. I swear that boy won't be able to take his eyes off of you!" I started smiling from ear to ear at the words that Abby told me. I was so happy. "Alright, I'm going to go try it on. Help me?" The question was more directed at Mikayla but they both practically ran up to me and gave me a hug before dragging me to the dressing room.
After making sure the dress fit me, I pulled out my phone so we could all take a picture. Abby and Mikayla gathered around me on both of my sides. Abby took the phone out of my hands so she could take the picture. After we took the picture, I took the dress off and put my regular clothes back on. Then I went back out to find Abby and Mikayla so we could find their dresses. By the end of the day, we had all found the perfect dress. Abby picked out a blush pink strapless dress that ended just above her knees in the front, but went about mid calf in the back. Mikayla got a purple dress with white lace in the middle that stopped about 3 inches about her knees all around. We went to the shoe store and all three settled on black peep toe heels. After this day, we were all really psyched for prom. We couldn't wait.

After dress shopping we all went back to Abby's and slept there. The next morning I went home so I could show my mom and sister my dress.
