Maddie's POV
Wes and I are sitting in the waiting area at the doctors office, ready to hopefully hear our baby's heartbeat. I think I'm about 3 or 4 weeks along so hopefully everything goes well. I'm sitting there bouncing my leg up and down with Wes's fingers intertwined in mine. I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't hear the nurse call my name. "Madison Jones?" Wes stood up before I did. I stood and we followed the nurse back to the room. "Dr. Merman will be right with you." I nodded and laid down on the table. A few minutes later the doctor walked in and started talking. "Okay! Madison, correct? Maddie's fine. Okay well I'm Dr. Merman and I'll be evaluating you throughout your pregnancy." Then she measured my belly and my weight before I laid back down on the table. "Well, based on your gestation and everything, it looks like you are about 8 and a half weeks along. I can get the monitor on and we will check on this little guy or gal. Sound good? Yeah. Thank you. Did you say 8 and a half...? Yes. Is that a problem? Were you not expecting to be that far along? Oh no. Not a problem at all. It just that we've only been married 6 weeks... Oh okay. Well let's have a look shall we?" I smiled and Wes grabbed my hand. The doctor put the gel on my stomach and started to move the wand around. Then the room was filled with a thumping noise. Wes leaned up and kissed me, also wiping the tears off of my face. "Well it seems like the heartbeats are steady and everything seems just fine." The doctor smiled at us. Then my smile slowly faded away. Wes was the first to speak up. Wait.. Did you say heartbeats? As in more than one...? "Yes. Congratulations. You're having twins. I'll se you back in 4 weeks, just around your 12 weeks point, by then we should be able to find out the genders if you'd like." After the doctor wiped the gel off of my stomach and walked out I jumped up and gave Wes a big hug. He pulled me in close and kissed my hair. I pulled back and gave him a emotional smile. He leaned down and gave me a tender kiss on the lips. I'll start showing in a few weeks. It will be amazing. I love you. I love you too.
After the doctors appointment we went back to the baby furniture store to get the things we didn't get last time; 2 cribs, a changing table, 2 small dressers, and 1 outfit that says "My daddy's a cop, don't mess with me" and 1 that says "Mommy's future Firefighter". After we paid for everything, the stock boy helped up get everything out to the truck.
When we got home, I tried to help Wes take the things inside but he refused to let me help. You shouldn't be lifting really heavy things like this baby. It could strain the babies. Okay okay. I give up. I'm going to go inside and start thinking of names. Okay I'll be in in a few.
After about 20 minutes Wes had finally gotten everything inside and into the spare bedroom. He came to sit next to me on the couch, throwing his arm around my shoulder. Think of anything yet? Yeah actually I have. I really love these. For two boys, I like Aaron James and Alexander Thomas. For two girls, I like Marisa Jodel and Elizabeth Jordan. BUT! For a boy and a girl, I have some winners here. For the girl, Alya Gabriela. (Alya like Talia without the T). And for the boy, Taylor Matthew. I love those, baby. I can't wait to find out who's in there. He said as he put his hand on my slowly growing bump. You tired? He smirked after I yawned. I chuckled before answering. Yea a little. It's been an eventful day. Well if you're tired you can head up to bed. It getting late anyways. Okay. I'm actually going to do that. I wiped out. Ok. I'll be up in a minute. I'm just gonna make sure the door is locked and turn off all the lights. I nodded and stood up to go to bed.
About 5 minutes later I heard our door open and Wes crawl into bed next to me after stripping to his boxers. He wrapped his arm around me and kissed the back of my head. I started to doze off, but not before I heard Wes whispered a "goodnight, Love" to me and his grip around my waist get tighter before we both fell into a deep sleep.
