Last day at the Academy

Sorry, another time jump. This ones 2 years ahead. Gotta get everything in somehow.

Wes's POV
Today is the day that Maddie graduates from the fire academy. It's nothing big, but I am SO proud of her. Two years of working her ass off at that academy finally paid off. Today also marks our 7 years being together. I plan to take her out to dinner after we're done at the academy. What she doesn't know is that I have talked to her parents already and have gotten their blessing. I'm going to propose to the love of my life tonight after dinner while we're taking a walk along the pier. I can't wait. It's going to be perfect.

We were just about done at dinner. That meant we were going to walk on the pier for a little bit. Also meaning it was time for me to pop the question. I am so excited..! It's the start of a new chapter in our lives and I can't imagine it with anyone else but Maddie. As we started walking along the pier, I wrapped my arm around her should as we walked. I thought now was a better time than ever, so, I stopped and we looked over the water. I pulled my arm from around her shoulder and laced my fingers with hers and started to speak. "Madison Moore, you are the strongest, most single-minded woman I've ever met. I'm a lucky man to have you in my life. I want to make sure that we're together forever. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I can't imagine it with anyone else. So..." I got down on one knee as I finished. "Will you marry me?" She started to tear up, smile, laugh, and cry all at the same time. "Yes... Yes!" I stood up and placed the ring around her finger on her left hand and kissed her tenderly on the lips. People around us started to clap and Maddie smiled as she pulled away. I rested my forehead on hers and smiled down at her. "Wanna head home, baby?" She nodded and pulled away. She laced her fingers with mine as we walked back to my truck to head back to our apartment.

As we walked up the steps to our door, I pulled out my keys as quickly as possible. As soon as the door was open I let Maddie go in first. But, as soon as she was in she pulled me in right after her and started kissing me I joined in on the kiss and kicked the door shut with my foot. I picked Maddie up and carried her to our room, where we continued our make-out session and showed each other just how much we loved one another well into the night to the early hours of the morning. These past seven years have been the best ever. I am so lucky to have met My Love, Madison Moore.
