Where it All Began

Mexico

Maddie's POV
We've been in Mexico for 6 days now. It has been great but I can't wait to head back home tomorrow. Mostly because then Wes and I get to start packing up to move to Chicago. We leave 3 and a half weeks from today, we still have time but I do t want to forget anything so I'm starting to pack early and I know he is too. Tonight we're going out to dinner and walk along the streets of Cancun for a little bit and sit in the sand at the beach to watch the sunset. And then we have to leave in the morning. It will be a great end to our trip. Mikayla, Lauren, Abby, Andrew, Isaiah and Jake were all here too. It cost us all a little more but we all got our own private villa near the beach so we had some privacy, this was our last trip for awhile. In the years past, we had gone on a few trips in the middle of the year too. But now that we're all going to college, it's not going to be that easy. Wes and I are moving to Chicago, Lauren and Andrew have decided to go all the way to Louisiana State University, Mikayla and Jake got accepted to Wichita State, while Abby and Isaiah are headed to Indiana University not too far from home. Being able to get together all the time like we used to is going to be hard. We will always be able to get in touch with everybody but it won't be the same. I was starting to zone out and Wes got my attention. Hey, babe? You okay? Yea, I'm fine. Sorry. Just zoned out for a bit, that's all. I realized why he seemed worried. I was in my 'thinking position' as he called it. My knees tucked up to my chest with my chin resting on my knees with my arms wrapped around my legs. It had become quite normal for me to sit like this for a little while if there was something I needed to think about. And Wes didn't let that drop either. He knew something was up. Nope. That's your thinking face. What's going on in that pretty little head of yours? Just thinking about all of us going off to college. Not being able to see everybody all the time like we used to. It's going to be different. But we will be able to take a trip out to see them eventually so I'm not too worried. I know. I can't believe it either. We will be able to find a way to keep in touch. Hell, we've been using long distance calls for a week to get ahold of Megan and Hannah so it shouldn't be too hard to give them a call from a few states away. I know. But Megan and Hannah are our little sisters. They can't go a few days without talking to us. They can't help it, they're ten. It's going to be weird leaving home. I can't imagine what kind of hell Hannah's going to put my mom through after I leave wanting to come visit. Same with you mr mom and Megan. It'll be interesting. I mean I clung to my older sisters side when she left for college and she was just an hour and a half away. Imagine what it'll be like for them. It'll be different that's for sure. Megan has already started thinking of ways to get me to stay. I've tried telling her multiple times that I'm just going to be home for a little while and then I'll come back to see her but she's still worried she won't get to see her big brother for awhile. Hannah's that same way. I told her that you would talk to her when we got back to tell her that you wouldn't let anything happen to me. That seemed to calm her down a little bit. Will you talk to her? Yea of course. Maybe that'll help Megan too? Mind talking to her? Of course not. I love your family. And my family loves you so go right ahead and talk to Hannah. Okay. I'll talk to her tomorrow when we get back. Our flight should get is home around 5 or 6. Sounds great. Do you wanna get ready for dinner and then go get the others? Yea sure. He got up from the bed and held his hand out to me. I got up and wrapped him in a hug. What's this for? Nothing... Everything. I love you. I love you too. I pulled away and smiled. I bet I can get ready before you can! With that I ran from his embrace to go start to get ready. I had already taken a shower so I was one step closer than he was. He laughed and ran to get in the shower. I loved times like these. We got to act childish and mess around. I fumbled around looking for my dinner dress and sandals. I finally had to just settle on my old dark blue Lacey dress with black sandals. I heard the shower turn off so I quickly stripped my clothes to put my dress on. After my dress I turned my curling iron on and did my makeup while it was warming up. I looked back at Wes who was still in a towel with water dripping from his hair. I threw my head back in laughter and continued with my makeup. Once I got all of my makeup done I quickly started to curl my hair. I turned around and Wes was sitting on the bed looking at me. When he saw my mouth drop open he laughed, soo hard. He got up and took the curling iron from my hand and did the back for me, since he knew I would get agitated if I didn't get it all in the back so he usually helps me. Once he was done, he turned the curling iron off and turned me around in his arms. So, since I won the bet.. What do I win? I chuckled lightly. Well, we don't leave until noon tomorrow and if I recall, all of your crap is thrown EVERYWHERE all over the bathroom and the bedroom. So! I'll help you pack everything and if we get done in time, then we can have some fun... He smiled and leaned down to kiss me. I pecked him on the lips and we ran out to the living room to get the keys and our phones and headed over to the other villas where the others were staying.
When we got there I knocked on the door and walked in. To my surprise, Abby and Isaiah were actually ready to go for once. They were always the two that would be running late. All four of us went to the other houses to pick up the other four and we headed out for dinner.
After dinner we went for a walk on the beach to watch the sunset. It was all so beautiful. Wes and I were behind everybody else walking. It was nice, I could hold onto his arm and just enjoy it. We stopped to lay in the sand to watch the sunset for a little while. I laid in Wes's arms and got comfortable. There's just something about him that makes me feel so safe in this world. I know everything about him, which makes me feel even more safe. I'm so glad to have him in my life...
After we watched the sunset we all went back to our villas to finish packing. Wes? Baby where'd you go? In here! I heard Wes yelling from our bedroom so I went in there. I turned the corner and saw Wes laying in the middle of the bed shirtless.... Are you trying to kill me?! Nah.. Come 'ere!!!! I walked over to him and laid down. I curled up next to him and we had a relaxing night laying next to each other. We leave to go home in the morning and I'm glad, but this place is so amazing. I don't know how I'm ever going to leave.
