Maddie's POV
Today is the day that Wes and I move to Chicago. Our lease started up yesterday and we have our apartment for 2 and a half years. Of course, with plenty of time to bump our lease further into the future of needed. Wes will be here in about 10 minutes so we can finish loading things in his truck that wouldn't fit in mine. Sadly, we are driving separate up there so we have both of our trucks there. I looked out of my window and saw Wes pull up. He shut the truck off and jumped out. I smiled and went down to start helping put boxes in the truck.
Once we got everything in, I went to say the last goodbyes to my family before we headed out. I walked up to my mom and she held on the longest. I laughed and hugged her. Then came my dad. I gave him a hug and he kissed my forehead. Then came Hannah.. She ran up to me and held her arms around my waist. I'll be back, Hannah. It's not like I'm leaving forever. Hey, look at me. Your fall break is in a few weeks right? Did Wes promise that you'd be able to come stay with us? You and Megan both. It'll be fine. I promise. I looked over at Wes as he was getting hugs from my parents as well. I saw him nod and say something. To me it looked like he said thank you and I promise. I smiled and looked down at Hannah who was still hugging me. I leaned down and gave her a kiss on her forehead. I'll be back. I love you Hannah. I love you too Maddie. After I told everybody goodbye once again, I walked up to Wes and gave him a hug. You ready to go? Yea, I think so. It's time. He held me in his arms a little longer before he let me go so we could leave. I walked to my truck and got in. Wes started his up and started to pull out of the driveway. I followed straight behind him.
3 hours later
We finally arrived in Chicago. It is beautiful. I love this city so much. Once Wes and I found where we were going, we parked our trucks and started unloading the boxes from the truck beds.
When we finally got them all in and scattered all around the apartment, it was going on 7 o'clock. How about we go to that Italian restaurant around the corner and then start unpacking when we get home? Sounds good. This place is actually home, now. I know. It's amazing.. Alright, I'm going to go change my shirt and then we'll head out? Yep. I'm going to change my shorts. I got some rust on them from the truck bed. Okay, sounds good. We went to our room to look for a box with our clothes. It took about 10 minutes before we finally found the right boxes with what we needed. Ready to go? Yea, let's head out. Alright! We walked out of our apartment and started walking to the restaurant around the corner. After walking for about 5 minutes, we got to the door and Wes opened it up for me. Walking up to the counter to get a table, Wes speaks up. Uh, reservation for Jones. "Ah, yes. Right this way please." Wes grabbed my hand a led me to the table. Once seated, I looked at him. Reservations? What's the occasion, lover boy? Just thought I'd take my girl out to a nice dinner. What's wrong with that? Nothing, nothing..
After a great dinner, Wes and I walked back home to start unpacking. It was about 8:30 now but we don't want to have to live out of boxes for the next 2 weeks. We decided to start with the bedroom boxes. Clothes, bedding, connected bathroom items, just things like that. Then the kitchen, and then the living room. The rest of the rooms as well. Around 1:30 in the morning, we were finally done unpacking. That was the best feeling. The second our heads hit the pillows, we were out like a light. I sighed and smiled to myself as Wes wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me close.
