Maddie's POV
This morning I woke up around 5:30 to Alya crying. I smiled and took her in my arms to feed her. I looked over at Wes who was still sleeping with Taylor on his chest, sound asleep. At 6 o'clock on the dot, the doctor softly knocked on the door before coming in. Good morning! Ready to get outta here? Absolutely! Just then Wes woke up and readjusted Taylor in his arms. Hey, can you sign the discharge papers for me babe? He yawned and nodded his head. Yeah of course. After he signed the papers, we changed the twins and put them in their car seats that Wes had ended up bringing in last night. When we were all set the nurse came back in with a wheelchair and looked at me. Yeah yeah I know you don't like it but it's standard procedure. Wes chuckled and I glared at him, which immediately got him to stop laughing. Wes grabbed the car seats while I had the baby bag and the duffel on my lap. We started walking for the exit and out to the car. Can I get out of this damn wheelchair now? I'm not ninety... Luckily we were friends with the nurse that brought me out so she just laughed it off. Oh calm down Maddie. Ugh, Claire please just let me walk?! I carry grown men out of fires, I'm pretty sure I can walk 50 yards out to the car. Alright alright. Congratulations you guys, and good luck with this one Wes. She pointed at me and laughed. Wes slightly chuckled. Thanks Claire. We'll see you around. I got to the car and opened the back door so we could put Taylor in on one side and Alya on the other. After they were strapped in and back asleep, Wes opened my door for me to let me in our new car. Before he let me in he stopped me. I love you. Thank you so much, for giving me the best family I could ever ask for. I love you too. I don't know what I would do without you. You are the best husband anyone could ever ask for, and I am so glad that our beautiful kids get to have such an amazing father. He leaned down to kiss me and then I got into the car, while Wes got in on the other side to drive home.
When we got home, Wes was the total gentleman and opened my door for me. I tried to get Alya out of the car but he stopped me and gave me the baby bag. Nope. I'll get them. You go on in and relax. He kissed my forehead before I reluctantly stepped back. Wes got Alya out of the car in her car seat and went around to the other side to get Taylor as well. He set Alya down lightly and unstrapped Taylor's car seat. We walked up the front steps of our house and I unlocked the door. When I went in I started to relax a bit. Okay I'll text our moms and tell them that we just got home. Can you take Alya up to change her real quick? I'll bring Taylor up in a minute. Yeah sure. He got Alya out of her car seat and soothed her as she woke up. Sh it's okay baby girl. Daddy's got you. I smiled and took out my phone to text our parents. "Hey just got hoe from the hospital. Do you know about what time you all will be here?" I put my phone back in my pocket of my sweats and went over to Taylor. Hey little man. Let's get you upstairs to bed. I picked him up gently and went upstairs to the nursery. I opened the slightly ajar door and saw was Wes rocking Alya to sleep. My heart melted at that sight and I smiled. I quietly went in and went over to Taylor's crib. He was still asleep in my arms so I gently set him down in his crib before putting the rail up. Wes looked up at me and gave me a whole hearted smile. He was happy. I could tell just by looking at him with his daughter. Soon enough to Alya was asleep and was being but down in her crib as well. I put the rail up and turned around in Wes's arms. I love you. I love you too. He gave me a kiss on the lips and we quietly left the nursery, closing the door behind us. I felt my phone buzz in my pocket. I had gotten a text back from my mom. "Left about an hour ago, be there around 9 your time." "Okay see you then." My mom said they will all be here around 9. Okay. Why don't you go lay down for a little bit? You look exhausted. Thank you. Are you sure you'll be okay with them by yourself for a couple hours? Yes, baby I'll be fine. I'll wake you up if I need anything. If they wake up I'll feed them and change them. I will come wake you up around 8:30? I nodded and slowly walked down the hall to our bedroom. I didn't think I was as tired as I was. As soon as my head hit the pillow, I was out like a light...
Wes's POV
Since Maddie was sleeping I figured I would clean up a little bit more since I was in a hurry before I left yesterday. I started in the kitchen, cleaning the counter off and sweeping the floor. Then I went upstairs to make sure the twins were still okay. I smiled as they were still asleep and then I went to check on Maddie. She was sound asleep as well. I went back downstairs with the baby monitor attached to my belt. I sat down on the couch and put a hockey game on, with the volume down low, and put my feet up. About 10 minutes later I heard Alya start to wake up, needing to be fed. It had only been less than 24 hours that my little boy and little girl had been born but I already know their different cries. I quickly got up to make a bottle and quietly ran up the stairs. I opened the door and started whispering to her to soothe her a little. Hey baby girl. When she heard my voice her cries lessened. Daddy's here little one. I set the bottle on the changing table next to her crib and went to pick her up. I picked her up and went back for the bottle. We went to rock in the rocking chair while she ate. For one of the very few times she has opened her eyes since she has been born, she opened them and looked straight up at me. She has her daddy's eyes for sure, with her Mommy's dark hair. Her bright blue eyes looked straight at me and I could feel her relax in my arms. Her little body curled into me. I smiled down at my little girl. When she was finished I burped her and held her close again. She closed her eyes and fell fast asleep again. I set her back down in her crib and went to make another bottle for Taylor before coming back upstairs. I could already tell that Taylor was going to be a heavy sleeper. He sleeps right through his big sister's cries. I went upstairs and picked him up, grabbing the bottle from the changing table like I had done with Alya. How's daddy's little buddy doin'? He opened his big brown eyes and looked up at me as I sat down in the rocker. Hey bud. I think somebody's hungry. He opened his mouth and I chuckled. I'll take that as a yes. I gave him the bottle and he sucked it dry within 10 minutes. I burped him as well and held him. It took about 5 minutes for him to fall back asleep. I put him in his crib and then went back to Alya, who was looking back up at me. Hey Princess! I bet you need changed huh? I picked her up and took her to the changing table in between the cribs. I changed her diaper and put her soiled onesie in the basket by the door and grabbed a clean one out of the drawer. I went back to her and tickled her tummy for a second. I know that statistics say that a newborn won't start laughing until about 2 months, but the grin she just gave me and the little noise she just made told me that she was going to have the most adorable laugh. I put her clean onesie on her and picked her back up. I walked around the nursery for a few minutes until she finally fell back asleep. I looked down at the time on my phone for the time and saw it was 8:30. Time to wake Maddie up. I quietly left the nursery and walked down the hall the our bedroom and opened the door. I sat down on the edge of the bed next to Maddie and gently shook her shoulder. Maddie, baby, wake up. They'll be here soon. She stirred lightly and slowly opened her eyes. Hey sleepyhead. Our parents will be here soon. She woke up a little more and pulled me down next to her. Were the twins okay? Yep. I fed them and changed them. They're both sounds asleep again. Taylor is quite the heavy sleeper, just like his mama used to be. She playfully slapped my arm and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I got up and held out my hand, which she grabbed and I helped her up. Thanks. Not a problem. I pulled her into my chest and gave her a hug. You know, if daddy's little girl and mama's little boy keep it up, I'm gonna need another one once the cuteness runs out of these two. I tried to stay as serious as possible but we both busted out laughing, still trying to be quiet because of the sleeping infants just down the hall. Oh really now? I nodded my head and kissed her. I pulled away reluctantly and she got out of my arms to go take a shower. I have about 20 minutes until they said they should be here. Take my phone downstairs with you so you know if they text please? You got it. I'm just gonna go check on the twins and grab the monitor. Then I'll head down. She smiled and then headed for the shower. I walked out of the room and went back to the nursery. Alya was awake, probably because she heard us laughing a few minutes ago. But to no surprise, Taylor was still passed out. I picked Alya up after I put the baby monitor on my hip and then walked back to the bedroom to talk to Maddie before going back downstairs. Hey Babe? Alya woke up so I'm going to take her down with me. I've got the monitor but when you get out can you bring Taylor down if I haven't already gotten him? Yeah I'll be down in a few minutes. Okay. I closed the bathroom door and looked down at the baby girl in my arms, staring up at me with those piercing blue eyes that will get me every time. Hi Princess. I cooed. You wanna go downstairs with daddy and wait for grandmas and grandpas to get here? She continued to stare up at me as I walked towards the stairs. Let's go then. When I got to the bottom of the stairs Maddie got a text from her mother. "Hey we just turned down Surmac, where do we go from here?" I decided calling her would be easiest. After 2 rings she picked up. Hey it's Wes. Hi Wes, did you get the text? Yeah I just figured it would be easier to tell you than try and text one handed. Ah, makes sense. Okay so on Surmac you wanna take a left onto Hickory and then we live on South Kinsey. You should be able to find it from there. Which way are you coming from? The north. Okay we are the 4th house on the left. Okay. We will see you in a minute. Sounds good. Bye. Bye.
I heard the nursery door open upstairs and then Maddie coming down the stairs with Taylor. Hey babe they'll be here in a minute. Just got off the phone with your mom. They needed a little navigation help. I turned around and saw Maddie with Taylor in her arms, looking beautiful as ever. No matter what she does she will always be beautiful to me. Right now she is wearing a pair of black Under Armor sweatpants and one of my old t shirts that she had become accustomed to during her pregnancy. She looked up from Taylor and looked at me. You wanna take him? I'm gonna run back upstairs and grab the playpen so we can put them down down here. Yeah sure. She walked over to me and carefully set Taylor in my left arm, while Alya was in my right. Okay I'll be right back down. She ran up the stairs and into the nursery to the closet. And of course as soon as she was out of sight, the doorbell rang. Crap... I muttered under my breath. Maddie! I'm coming! It's stuck in the closet! I'll get it, everybody's here! I went towards the door and attempted to unlock it with my right hand, which surprisingly I had success at doing. I looked through the window to double check that it was them before talking again. Hey guys it's open come on in! The door opened and they all piled in, coming over to me. Things like "they're adorable and oh my gosh" we're said, gushing over the twins. My mom took Alya from me and Maddie's mom took Taylor. Megan looked at me a little shy, as she hasn't seen me in quite awhile. I looked over at her and smiled. C'mere kid! She ran up to me and I picked her up, giving her a hug. When I set her down she looked up at me. Guess what?! What?! I got my license last week! She was smiled from ear to ear. That's great! I can believe my baby sister got her license already. I'm 25 and my baby sister is 16. I don't know where the time has gone. I heard Maddie come down the stairs finally. She didn't have any luck with getting the playpen out but she came over to me. I turned back around to the rest of the family and she wrapped her arms around my middle from the back. I put my hand on hers and she laid her head on my back.
After everybody had left to go to the hotel, minus Megan and Hannah, we decided on a movie night for the four of us after we put the twins down. After I ordered is a pizza we all curled up on the couch, Maddie and I in the middle with the girls on either side of us,  to watch The Notebook, girl's choice obviously. About 20 minutes later the pizza was here. I paid the guy and he left. After eating the girls all curled up on the couch again and started to drift off to sleep, Maddie being the first to go. Curled up into my side with her head on my chest. I didn't mind at all. She has given me the best thing I could ever ask for. Then Hannah. She was fast asleep against her older sister with her arm draped over Maddie on my knee. And last was Megan. Curled into my side with her arm wrapped around my mid section and her head on my shoulder. I slowly got up and picked Maddie up, carrying her to bed first. I took her upstairs and laid her down in bed, kissing her forehead. Goodnight Love. I walked out of the room and closed the door quietly before going to check on the twins. I went over to Taylor and he was asleep, along with Alya. I will feed them after I get the girls to bed in the guest bedroom. I went back down to the living room and picked up Hannah and took her upstairs. Night Hannah. I kissed her forehead as well. Lastly I went down and brought Megan up and laid her down in bed. Night little sis. I kissed her forehead and went downstairs to make two bottles for the twins. I fed Taylor first. Hey little man. Let's get you fed changed and back to sleep. After I fed him I changed his super and put him back down, going over to Alya. Hey Princess. I fed her and changed her before putting her back to sleep. Goodnight, daddy loves you both so much. I quietly closed the door and went to call it a night. I crawled into bed next to Maddie and pulled her close. Goodnight my Love. I kissed the back of her head and fell asleep instantly.
