"You don't understand Tiff, it was terrible!" I exclaim. We are finding a place to sit in the cafeteria, holding our lunch trays. Today's lunch is beef tacos and Spanish rice. So I'm eating a heaping portion of Spanish rice.

"It couldn't have been that bad. You were just reading lines from a play," Tiff said, rolling her eyes. I spot an empty table, and we walk over, setting our trays down.

"Not just A play THE play. The most famous love story if all time! And I was freaking JULIET! Not only that, but my mortal enemy was ROMEO," I yell, a little too loud, causing eyes from surrounding tables to glance at me.

"Quiet down Lottie. And besides, he's not your 'mortal enemy.' If he was, you wouldn't have helped him the other day" she replies, shrugging her shoulders at the last part, before taking a bite out of her taco.

"Oh, so we are talking about THAT again," I retort, giving her a false death glare. I suddenly notice the emptiness of my stomach from my failing to eat breakfast, and shovel a forkful of rice into my mouth.

"No, we don't have to. But it's okay, it's over now. It's not like those were your real parts," she assures me.

"The sad thing is I tried to sound like I really was Juliet, cause I would KILL for the lead in one of these plays," I conclude.

"We both know you wouldn't kill for the part, you can't even hurt a fly," she laughs.

"Oh hush, it's a figure of speech!" I sass, giving her a soft slap on the arm. We talk about everything and nothing for the next 20 minutes or so. About ten minutes before the bell rings to go to 5th period, I get a text from an unknown number.

'Meet me @ my car. Now,' It reads.

Um, sorry buddy, but I don't know who you are. Seconds later, as if reading my mind, another text comes in.

'This is Caleb btw," this one says.

Caleb? There is no way.

"Who is it?" Tiff inquires. I roll my eyes before answering.

"Just Josh," I lie.

"What did he want?" She asks, flipping her hair over her shoulder.

"Nothing important. By the way, Derek is totally eying you," I whisper, changing the subject.

Derek is Tiff's crush of three years who she is too scared to ask out.

"No he's not!" she quietly exclaims, a note of glee in her voice.

"Yes, he is totally checking you out," I laugh.

His blonde hair was hiding his left eye, but with his right one, you could definitely tell that he was eyeing my sister. You would be blind not to see it!

The bell rings, and we hop up and head to our next classes; PE for me. Good news is that I have no more classes with Caleb for today. So the rest of my day should be care free. An easy day.
