"I think we'll be safer if we get to higher ground," I say, starting to think ahead about how we are going to get through the night. Its unlikely that anyone will find us till morning.

"How are we going to manage that with your leg?" Caleb questions. I myself don't know the answer to that one.
I take a look around to check out our surroundings.

"There's no way we can get up to the side where we were before. But we can get up to the other side of the ravine. We have to walk up that steep incline, and then one of us, preferably the one whose leg doesn't have a gash in it, has to rock climb up the rest of it, and pull the other one up. How strong are you, do you think you can pull me up?" I inform, the plan quickly forming in my mind.

"You barely weigh anything I'm sure I can lift you. But there's no way I'm letting you walk anywhere."

"Then how do you suppose we are going to get out of this death trap?" I retort.

"Piggy back ride. That way we don't have to risk you getting hurt by walking or me pulling you up the wall," he laughs. "But you can only hold on with your arms because I don't think your leg is strong enough. And I don't want you to hurt it more."

"Fine," I reluctantly agree. "I hate that I'm hurt. I feel so useless and vulnerable. Ugh, it's almost nauseating."

Caleb gives me a sympathetic look before speaking.

"Ok, let get this show on the road. Grab on," he says, crouching down in front of me. I wrap my arms around his neck, and hold on tight. I wrap my good leg around him so that I don't choke him.

"You know, if we were in a movie right now, this would seem romantic." *gag noises*. "But in this situation, I feel so helpless. How sad is it that I can't even walk?"

"Don't feel bad. It's not your fault the stupid cliff broke."

"Just my luck," I say, rolling my eyes.
We've walked up the steep incline , and now we're at the point where we need to climb up the wall.

"There is no way you can climb up this with me hanging from your neck, Caleb. You're not superman."

"You're right...I am Batman!" He retorts, a chuckle escaping him.

"It's not funny, I'm serious." I let go of his neck and sit down with my back against the wall. I cringe when I accidentally move my injured leg.

"What do you suppose we do then, Charlie?" He asks.

I think for a moment as I toy with my scarf. Perfect! My scarf!

"You climb up with my scarf. When you get to the top, throw it down. Then, you can pull me up. And I'll obviously look super amazing because I'll be striking a pose while I go up. And dong worry, this is a very well made scarf it won't break even while it holds my weight."
"You sure about this?"

"Trust me, it will work. I just know it. It has to." I wrap my scarf around his neck, and he starts to climb up.
