-2 Weeks Later on a Sunday-

I've been home for one week now. Caleb got home on Thursday. But he's at my house most of the time.

His Mom didn't come to the hospital once. Not one time.

I still haven't gone back to school. But tomorrow is Caleb and my first day back.

I'm sitting on my bed talking to Tiff- Caleb is out with Josh. They get along so well now, it's as if there was never any animosity between them.

"So, what are people saying. You know, about Caleb and me?" I ask, curiously. Tiff is sitting at the foot of my bed, and I'm sitting on the opposite side. Luna is lying by me, hear enormous head in my lap.

"Oh my gosh it's so crazy. Some of the things they say are so unbelievable. But there are a few versions of the story."

"And those versions would be?"

"Version 1- You went out for a run and Caleb followed you and tried to kill you. But you attacked him and put him into a coma."

I burst out laughing. "And people actually believe that?" I say, gasping for breath. That's just too funny.

"Version 2- Caleb and you went and tried to elope. But then you got lost and got attacked by a cougar."

"Well at least that ones half true." I chuckle.

"Version 3- You two went on a walk and an escaped criminal attacked and kidnapped you then left you to die on the middle of the forest. And Version 4- You two went on a walk, got lost, and a cougar attacked you. The truth. But that is the less popular of the versions. So trust me, everyone is going to be bombarding you with questions tomorrow. But Josh and I will try and keep then away from you," Tiff assures me.

"No. Don't. I want to be able to answer any questions. I want to make sure everyone knows the truth. But I still can't believe anyone is stupid enough to think an escaped prisoner kidnapped us. Or that I could put him in a coma. I can't hurt a fly. Maybe a cougar but not a fly," I laugh.
------

"We're home," I hear Josh yell. I jump up and run downstairs. As soon as I see Caleb, I give him a hug.

"Hey Charlie," he chuckles. I look up into his eyes.

"Do we have to go to school tomorrow?" I ask.

"Sadly, yes. But I'll stay with you all day," he promises.

"But we don't have the same classes," I say.

"I'll walk you to all your classes and I'll be there at the door as soon as they end."

"But what if it makes you late?"

"I don't care."

I just stand there hugging him, and everything feels so right.
